The Week's Top My INsnyde Take: Leftist Snipers: Shooting Democrats Before Republicans Even Load Their Guns

Oh good — nothing says “helping the ticket” like some Democrats spending their energy whispering GOP talking points. Watching some self-styled "leftists" heap dirt on Beau for not being a Hoosier is peak political self-sabotage — especially when the Republicans themselves have quietly moved on because their own candidate wasn’t exactly a hometown poster child. The more this kerfuffle plays out, the clearer it becomes that the only people this helps are the people who enjoy watching Democrats hand victories to Republicans on a silver platter. As one reader put it after watching my interview with Beau Bayh's dad: “The more people bash Beau, the more I support him.” If that doesn’t sting, nothing will.

So-called “leftists” of the Democrat Party like to shoot some Democratic candidates in the foot before the Republicans even get their guns loaded. The SnydeReport picks a side — the Democratic side — and we’re not going to stand for internecine petty attacks that smell like opportunism dressed up as principle. If you want to beat Tippy Toe Diego, bring policy, competence and a better campaign — not recycled smear tactics and juvenile memes. Stop helping the other side look competent by acting like you’re angling for a press release from the opposition.

Jelly Roll, anyone? Politics and the Super Bowl halftime show

It seems everything is political these days, and the Super Bowl halftime show is no different.

Chair Tallian Statement on ‘No Kings Day’ Rallies

It was amazing to see the thousands of Hoosiers who turned out across the state today. After over 20 years of one-party Republican control and corruption, Hoosiers are fed up and ready for change. In these trying times, it’s so refreshing to see Hoosiers taking to the streets and demanding that our state and federal government focus on the issues that really matter: lowering costs, healthcare, and childcare, not just partisan power grabs,” Indiana Democratic Party Chair Karen Tallian said

Our neighbors are proud to protest

No, Mike Johnson, these are our friends and neighbors, and they don’t fall under the categories of the names you and other Republican leaders are calling them. Show these ordinary citizens some dignity.
