What a stunner of a summer! We have had an absolute blast. Thank you to everyone who was a part of our 2026 summer adventures.
We Beat the Heatwaves! ☀️
We officially made it through the intense summer heatwaves! Even with the threats of fatigue and dehydration, our community stayed smart, stayed safe, and enjoyed walking throughout.
Yes, the footpaths were hot and dusty, and the evening humidity was absolutely off the charts, but we didn't let that stop us. By carefully assessing our routes for shady stops, adding pause points along the way, and by keeping each other motivated, we still managed to walk together, laugh through the sweat, and make some incredible summer memories.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, stepped up, and made this challenging season so much fun!
Here's a quick roundup of some of the things that made us happy in August...

Walk Works, Hobbs of Henley & Time for Tea Vintage |
|
Walk, boat trip and afternoon tea on The Hibernia along the river through Henley-on-Thames. This was just the perfect combination of events - a trio of loveliness and we will DEFINITELY be doing it again in 2027!

Danesfield House, Medmenham |
|
How we loved this walk! It had a little bit of everything... cooling woods, the river, dramatic white cliffs, ancient settlements, magnificent houses to nose at, and a secret haunted tunnel. Danesfield House is such a beauty, with so much history, nevermind the knowledgeable, welcoming staff and glorious grounds and gardens. Another one to repeat, for sure.

Well, that's a wrap for the Henley Vineyards Trail 2026 :)
Throughout the 2026 season we have brought you various permeatations of our unique Henley Vineyards Trail. With 5 vineyards to walk between, we have discovered a LOT about the exceptionally beautiful vineyards in our local area. We have met some truly remarkable people along the way. We have been delighted with the landscape and the footpaths between them and have come away with a wealth of knowledge about the English wine scene, to boot. . What a journey it has been!

We just LOVE sharing new routes with you. This one is an absolute treasure of a walk - 7km circular from Streatley Golf Club, with views, views and even MORE VIEWS!
This is a fairly strenuous walk as there are 4 hills - not THE Streatley Hill that we already know (and love!) because we want to show you somewhere new... The area is undulating and glorious so will certainly get the blood pumping.
Starting from the Goring & Streatley Golf Club and exploring The Holies, with fabulous autumnal woodlands, country lanes, fields and incredible views. Returning via Lardon Chase, one of Britain’s largest areas of rare and endangered chalk grassland. The walk offers panoramic views towards the Chiltern Hills, the North Wessex Downs and the Oxford Vale. Finishing at the clubhouse for optional refreshments. 7 km / 4 miles 1 stile 4 hills Total walking time approx 1 hour 40 minutes

"All at once, summer collapsed into fall." - Oscar Wilde |
|
Fall, Leaves, Fall Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away; Lengthen night and shorten day; Every leaf speaks bliss to me Fluttering from the autumn tree. I shall smile when wreaths of snow Blossom where the rose should grow; I shall sing when night’s decay Ushers in a drearier day.
