Hi again!

I once thought that rushing was the key to getting things done. So did the coaching client who inspired this letter. Maybe you have too.

We live in a manic society. Too much to do in too little time. We’re told the answer is to stack our plate high and eat faster.

I learned a long time ago that quantity and speed don’t equal value.

Here what I’ve noticed in the happiest, most effective people I’ve met. They’ve stopped stacking their plate high. In fact, they started removing.

They know the key to effectiveness isn’t more, faster — it’s getting ruthlessly clear on what really matters and clearing space to focus on it.

They see the difference between value creation and waste production. They know that being manically busy is an impediment to value creation, not the productivity signal we were taught to admire.

Here’s an invitation for your next mindful tea or coffee break.

Sit with these four questions. You don’t have to answer them completely. Just sit with them for a few minutes. See what comes up.

What does true success in life look like for me?

What does true success in work look like for me?

What does true success in relationships look like for me?

What does that teach me about what's truly important?

Wishing you happy success,

Steve.

By the way, would you love a free, deep conversation?

Every month, I put time aside to hold free conversations with subscribers of this letter. If today's message resonates, why not take one up? No pressure. No obligation. No hard sell. Just conversation.

Just reply to this email and we’ll set something up.
