Meltwater’s May 2026 analysis (published late June) of more than 8 million citations across major LLMs shows that AI visibility is becoming more fragmented, measurable, and source-dependent. The latest data confirms that LLMs are developing distinct trust patterns shaped by source type, format, authority, and model design. This means a brand can perform well in one AI ecosystem while remaining almost invisible in another. The report suggests that earned media remains one of the strongest levers and pathways for AI visibility; earned/news media accounted for 37.6% of the citation domain count in May. |

UK Publishers Strengthen Defence Against AI Scraping |

Some 31 UK websites, backed by the Movement for an Open Web (MOW), have added new “Search-Only Contracts” (SOCs) to their terms and conditions, prohibiting the copying and repurposing of content by LLMs such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google Gemini. These contracts set out payment rates (typically £500 per article) for unauthorised website scraping, paving the way for future legal claims. |
