We've Expanded Our Support

In our last bulletin, we shared that we would be starting to support carers living in Clackmannanshire. This officially begins today, Wednesday 1st July.

As part of this development, our name has changed to Stirling & Clackmannanshire Carers. You’ll start to see our new name and logo appearing over the coming months.

We are working closely with Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre during this transition period, and appreciate your patience while some of the practical details are put in place. Our priority is to ensure minimal disruption and to maintain consistent support for carers in both Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

If you have any questions about these changes, please visit our website or call us on 01786 447003.

State of Caring Survey 2026

Every year, thousands of Carers and former Carers take part in the Carers UK annual State of Caring survey, helping to build the most comprehensive picture of unpaid carers' lives in Scotland and across the UK.

Carer experiences matter, and by taking part you will help ensure that carers' voices are heard by policymakers, health and care services, employers and the wider public.

The findings from this year's survey will play a vital role in shaping Carers Scotland's campaigns, research and policy work over the coming year. At a time when a new Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament have been elected and decisions are being made about the health, social care and support for carers, it has never been more important that carers have their say.

Carers Week 2026

More than 150 local carers, aged from seven to over 90, took part in a range of activities during Carers Week in early June. The programme brought people together through wellbeing workshops, group activities, information sessions and days out, all designed to recognise the vital role unpaid carers play in their families and communities.

We were pleased to welcome Prof. Aisha Holloway, Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland, to our Information Day and Stirling’s Lord Provost, Rosemary Fraser, also joined our dementia-inclusive choir. Both visits offered a valuable chance for them to see our work in action and to speak directly with carers about the support they need.

Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland: Carers Focus Groups

Caring for someone following a stroke or heart attack, or who is living with a respiratory condition, or long covid, can be challenging.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland is currently undertaking a consultation with carers, in partnership with The Diffley Partnership, to better understand the support carers need.

Carers who take part will receive £40 to thank them for their time and participation.
