Our first shop hop of the year is almost here!!! The West Michigan Yarn Quest 2026 runs from June 18 through June 27, 2026. The event features 10 participating local yarn shops, and participants may purchase a $5 passport to collect stamps at each shop.

Passports also include 15% off regularly priced yarn and exclusive knit or crochet patterns, as well as potential door prizes and give-aways!

Visiting at least 8 shops enters you into runner-up drawings, while visiting all 10 enters you into the grand prize raffle!

For local participants, Knit and Spin in Montague is a convenient starting point! The 10 participating locations are:

Stop in our shop and pick up some Red, White and Blue yarn, and craft your next project to celebrate America 250, our Semiquincentennial! Featured above is Berroco Ultra Wool, but we have 21brands and many fiber types represented, and we are well-stocked!

Our next class will be Beginning Crocheting, Thursdays, July 9 th /16 th /23 rd . The cost of $60 includes six hours of instruction and one crochet hook and one skein of #4 acrylic yarn (student’s choice of color). Topics include chain / single crochet / half-double crochet / double crochet, crocheting in the round, granny squares, etc. Our maximum capacity is eight students, and the end-product will be soap-saver bags.

Since this class is popular, let us know if you think it would be worthwhile for us to offer the class again in August!

Our newest customer is showing how to enjoy the comforts of a crocheted baby blanket! Rowan was born on April 15 th at 4:08 pm (7 lbs 6 oz, 20-½ inches) and she is the second born to Paul and Jackelyn! Her big sister, Astrid, is very proud!

Susan Hertel took our beginning weaving class earlier this year. Then, she bought a loom of her own from the shop. Most recently, she weaved this amazing table runner!

We have an expanded selection of commercial brands of yarn, as well as an amazing assortment of locally-sourced products: hand-dyed fibers, wooden and ceramic yarn bowls, hand-crafted bags, etc.! We also have a huge selection of knitting needles, crochet hooks, notions, books and patterns. We now have large separate room for crafting, complete with a community pattern library, and the room is available for FREE any time the shop is open!


We are open M/W/F/Sa 10a-5p, and T/Th 10a to 7p.
