| | Poetry for Pleasure Friday 1st May 2026 19:45 |
The final session of the current series of Poetry for Pleasure will be on Friday May 1st at 7.45 pm in the Methodist Church Hall. In view of the sad state the world is in at present we have revised the theme for the evening from the rather bland ‘Spring Song’ to the more positive: ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ being aware that by May 1st Spring should have well and truly sprung and Summer should not be far behind! Do come and join us for what should be another enjoyable evening. |

On Saturday the 18th April, the Romsey and District Society Biannual clean-up of the litter around the town and the Holbrook Stream by Middlebridge Street took place. I would like to send a big thank you goes to the 26 volunteers who gave their time and energy to support the society and help to keep our town looking good. There will be another RDS Litter pick in October so watch out for the notices on the Website, the Newsletter and Facebook. Roz Fresson |

| | As I am writing this, the live feed is showing the female peregrine sitting on her eggs. After losing her mate early in the year, she managed to team up with another male and laid eggs in the tray on the top of the Abbey tower. |

| | Speculative planning applications to develop fields all around Romsey continue to flood in and our Natural Environment and Planning Committees continue to monitor and try to keep up with responses to these. If you would like to make a difference and help with this vital task, please contact either [email protected] or [email protected] immediately. |
