Find a comfortable spot to sit and look out of a window.
Spend 2 to 3 minutes observing what you see and hear. You might notice clouds shaped like animals or objects, the roof shapes of different houses and buildings, the tops of the trees. You might hear the weather, animals, voices, or traffic.
On a piece of paper, write or draw something that captures your experience. This could represent what you see or hear, or how you feel in that moment.
Don’t think too hard, just let whatever comes to mind flow out through the pencil. You might want to use a colour that draws your attention.
When I witness this exercise at Art4Space I love the freedom of expression and letting go of expectations.
