With persistent sub-zero temperatures this winter, our students' unwavering commitment to showing up with upbeat attitude was nothing short of heartwarming! As we head into the final month of the term, we look forward to sharing with you our students' wintery projects and hope you will join us on Sunday, March 22nd (2:00-5:00pm) as we celebrate their accomplishments through an End-of-Term Group Art Show! The art show will feature work inspired by Lawren Harris, Vincent Van Gogh, Joan Miro, Piet Mondrian, and Itzhak Tarkay, among other notable 19th and 20th century artists.
SPRING: For those interested in joining a class this spring, we are now taking registration into the upcoming Spring Term Art Classes. Please note that classes are filling up quickly, and as always, once a class reaches capacity, we will add interested students to a wait-list and will email them should space become available. Also available this spring is our Art Smart Lecture Series where Art Historian Sonia Halpern will delve into "Paint and Suffering". This 6-part weekly lecture series will examine artists whose psychological or physical illnesses became a central part of their legacies. Exploring artists like Toulouse-Lautrec, Frida Kahlo, and Maud Lewis among others, Sonia will uncover the way in which each artist dealt with their respective ailments, and how suffering affected their style of art.
SUMMER: Looking ahead into summer, we would love to see you and your artist join us for one of our Summer Camps for Kids & Youth and Summer Art Classes for Adults! From painting, to drawing, sculpting, animation, high school workshops and adult classes, we have something planned for everyone this summer. With half-day and full-day programs available, these summer programs are perfect for kids, youth and adults wishing to further develop their artistic skills with us.
We invite you to follow the links above and register into the program that best suits your needs, desires, and schedule and we look forward to seeing you at the studio in warmer weather.
Wishing you and your family a colourful month of March!
