This final edition of our 2025 newsletter is a reflection — a moment to celebrate milestones, honour collaborations, and acknowledge the collective effort that made this year possible. Thank you for being part of the journey.

As we look ahead, we do so energized, grounded, and excited for what’s next.

POWER MONDAY @5

Power Monday@5

In 2025, Power Monday@5! marked a powerful milestone — five years of weekly conversations, learning, and community. The year closed on a high note with an inspiring End of Year Dinner held at the Nairobi Club on 31st October 2025, bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, and long-time members to celebrate growth, connection, and shared purpose.

At the heart of the evening was an inspiring keynote by Dr. Gilda Odera, PhD, who challenged the Power Monday community to embrace courageous action, curiosity, and consistency as foundations for impact. Her call to “step up, show up, and scale the heights of impact” set the tone for the celebration, complemented by insights from Lucille Aveva, Director of Customer Obsession at Safaricom PLC, who explored the intersection of technology, leadership, and humanity — reminding participants that innovation thrives where empathy and digital transformation meet.

The conversation was further enriched through a dynamic panel moderated by Dr. Melvin D’Lima, featuring Dr. Margaret Makanyengo, Hellen Mtawali, and Otieno Paul Peter, who reflected on holistic growth through wellness, creativity, and digital adaptability. The evening came alive through powerful performances by Nancy Moraa (Lucita the Poet) and Hellen Mtawali, heartfelt member testimonials, and seamless hosting by MC Kyesubire Talitwala-Greigg, before closing with reflections from Maurice Omondi and a symbolic cake-cutting led by Ciru Mugithi. LYD extends sincere appreciation to our partners — Falcon Insights Global (FIG), Oasis MHL Hospital, Faith Zinzia, and ICT Gurus East Africa — the Power Monday board, and Noel Khasandi, whose courage and commitment continue to fuel a movement rooted in growth and community.

Five years on, Power Monday@5! remains more than a weekly session — it is a movement rooted in learning, leadership, and ecosystem support As we look ahead to 2026, the journey continues — together.

WHERE VISION MET ACTION: LYD’S 2025 YEAR IN REVIEW

ECOSYSTEM & COLLABORATION

ECOSYSTEM & COLLABORATION Pictures

Building Bridges Across Local, Regional & Global Ecosystems

2025 was a defining year for Live Your Dream’s ecosystem engagement. We showed up — consistently and intentionally — in spaces where conversations shape policy, innovation, and the future of entrepreneurship.

From participating in ASSEK Policy Roundtables and the CEOs & Founders Roundtable, to contributing to regional and global platforms such as Sankalp, AfricArena, Seamless Africa, and Afrilabs, LYD remained deeply embedded in the conversations driving inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship.

These engagements allowed us to share grounded insights from our work with MSMEs, connect with investors and ecosystem builders, and strengthen cross-border collaboration. Whether locally, regionally, or internationally, 2025 reaffirmed our belief that ecosystems thrive when knowledge, opportunity, and leadership are shared.

TRAINING PROGRAMS

Equipping Entrepreneurs to Build, Scale, and Sustain

Training remained LYD’s strongest engine of impact in 2025.

Throughout the year, we successfully delivered the Women in Digital Business (WIDB) Training of Trainers across Cohorts 1–3, while expanding entrepreneurship support through programs such as AWOLA, GAIN’s Fortify Forward Challenge, Tony Elumelu Foundation programming, and engagements with Strathmore University iBridge program.

This journey reached a meaningful milestone this month with the graduation of WIDB ToT Cohort 3, where 11 trainers were certified, CULMINATING TO 43 FOR THE YEAR, strengthening a growing network of entrepreneurs equipped to transfer digital skills and scale impact within their communities.

Beyond women-focused programming, LYD also deepened its commitment to youth skilling through supporting the rollout of the NYOTA (National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement) Project. LYD seconded 10+ trainers in Nairobi County who partnered with Training for Development Initiative Inc. (TDI), led by Duncan Gachuhi. This was also done through a partnership with Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (KeFAAS), led by Peter Gitika, where LYD provided technical and logistical support in Mwatate Sub-county, Taita Taveta County.

As part of this collaboration, 10+ certified trainers successfully completed the NYOTA Training of Trainers program and are now positioned to deliver high-impact sessions across the county, focusing on personal development, digital skills, and entrepreneurial readiness — equipping young people with practical, future-ready capabilities.

Across these programs, entrepreneurs and youth alike gained more than technical skills. They gained confidence, clarity, and supportive communities — foundations that will continue to fuel growth long after the training rooms closed.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTHENING

Laying the Foundation for Sustainable Growth

2025 was also a year of inward growth and consolidation for Live Your Dream.

We developed and began implementing our Strategic and Sustainability Plan, launched a new logo, website, and strengthened our digital presence through six newsletter editions — creating consistent touchpoints with our community and partners. LYD is grateful to GIZ-PeCI and expert Kiriinya Githinji for the partnership and support.

The LYD team was privileged to be part of capacity development sponsored by ASSEK where the team participated in ASSEK Learning Week and Global Entrepreneurship Support Standards (GESS) program cum SA Benchmarking Exercise. 4 members of the team got certified as ToTs in  Cross Border Trade and E-commerce, facilitated by GIZ-PeCI.

These efforts reinforced our institutional foundation, improved visibility, and positioned LYD for long-term impact and operational resilience.

RECOGNITION

Celebrating Excellence and Impact

The year closed on a high note with Live Your Dream being recognized at the Tally Solutions MSME 2025 Awards under the Wonder Woman Category. The award was received by the CEO, Edna Onyach.

LYD also joined Vivian Owuor, founder of Aviana Eco Arts and Benard Odongo, founder of Belovast Energy Limited, in celebration —both incredible members of our Live Your Dream community. Benard won the MSME Honours Award 2025 Tech Transformer Category, while Vivian won the MSME Honours Award 2025 Champion of Cause Category.

This recognition affirmed the value of our work supporting MSMEs with practical, scalable solutions — and celebrated the collective effort of our team, partners, trainers, and community. It was a proud moment that reminded us that impact, when done with purpose and consistency, is always seen.

Giving Back with Purpose: LYD’s Commitment to Community

Charity Pictures

In 2025, Live Your Dream Enterprises deepened its commitment to community impact through two meaningful charity engagements with Precious Blood Children’s Family — first in May, and again in December, closing the year with compassion and intentional giving.

Both visits were rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that impact goes beyond material support. In May, LYD members spent time with the children through shared conversations, mentorship moments, and encouragement, reinforcing the importance of presence, dignity, and human connection. The December visit, held during the festive season, built on this foundation — bringing food, clothing, and gifts, while also creating space for joy, laughter, and celebration.

Across both engagements, what stood out most was not just what was given, but how it was given. Time, attention, and love were at the centre of every interaction — reminding us that empowerment often begins with showing up. These moments reflected LYD’s broader mission: to nurture purpose-driven leadership that extends beyond business and into community, empathy, and service.

LYD appreciates the support of the organizations and the community members who came together to make this possible.

As we close the year, these charity engagements stand as a powerful reminder that true impact is measured not only by growth and achievement, but by the lives we touch along the way.

From Hustle to Systems: Why 2026 Belongs to Structured Entrepreneurs

Image description

Across Africa’s entrepreneurial landscape, a quiet shift is happening. The most resilient businesses are no longer defined by how hard founders work — but by how well their systems work.

As markets tighten, funding becomes more selective, and digital tools evolve rapidly, entrepreneurs who are winning are those who have moved beyond hustle into structure. They are building clear financial records, documenting processes, leveraging digital tools intentionally, and aligning their businesses to real market demand.

Recent ecosystem insights show that MSMEs with basic systems — such as bookkeeping, digital sales channels, customer databases, and defined leadership roles — are significantly more likely to survive beyond five years and attract partnerships, financing, and cross-border opportunities.

For entrepreneurs preparing for 2026, the question is no longer “How do I work harder?” but “What systems can I put in place so my business works without burning me out?”

Practical steps include:

  • Strengthening financial discipline and record-keeping

  • Investing in digital visibility and e-commerce readiness

  • Building teams and delegating intentionally

  • Using data to guide decisions, not just instinct

As the year closes, this is a moment to reflect — not just on how far you’ve come, but on what needs to be built differently going forward.

Because sustainable growth is not accidental. It is designed.
