Bella Vista Church Weekly – Edition #22

(October 26 -  November 1, 2025)

Dear Bella Vista Church Family,

Last week we looked at verses 1 through 9 of First Corinthians chapter 7 and introduced the Love Chapter, chapter 13. We were reminded that everything we do as followers of Christ must be motivated by love, because God is love and He commands us to love Him and to love others.

This week we continue in our study of First Corinthians, focusing on verses 10 through 16. In these verses, Paul speaks about faithfulness and peace in marriage. As I’ve been praying and preparing, I’ve sensed the Lord reminding me that whether we are married or single, each of us is on our own journey of following Jesus.

We are called to love Him and to love others, even when that love is not returned. One day, we will each stand before God and give an account of our faithfulness in this calling. Yet, our obedience is not out of duty or fear, but out of love and gratitude for the high price that was paid for us.

Jesus loved us so much that He bought us with His own blood. Because of that love, we want to please Him, to walk closely with Him, and to reflect His heart in every relationship and circumstance of life.

As we open God’s Word together this Sunday, let’s remember that our highest calling is not to a particular relationship status, but to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is His love that makes every season of life meaningful and every act of obedience beautiful.

Sunday Worship – November 1st at 10:30 AM

This Sunday we’ll continue our study in 1 Corinthians 7:10–16, exploring Faithfulness and Peace in Marriage. As we walk through this passage, we’ll be reminded that whether married or single, each of us is on our own journey of following Jesus, called to love Him and love others with a faithful heart.

We are excited to welcome Abe Stobbe and his Quartet as our special guests leading us in worship this week. It will be a wonderful time to lift our voices together and celebrate the goodness of God.

Please take some time before Sunday to read through 1 Corinthians 7:10–16 and come prepared to share what the Lord is laying on your heart. Let’s come expecting God to speak to us and to work among us as we gather in His presence.

    Bible Study - Monday's 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

God continues to move in a beautiful way through our Bible Study! It has been such a blessing to see hearts stirred and faith strengthened as we have spent the last two weeks walking through His Word together.

So far, our readings have taken us from Creation to God’s covenant promises to Abraham, and through the early chapters of Matthew, where we are now coming to the powerful teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. As we read, we see the story of redemption unfolding from the very beginning of time to the arrival of the One who fulfills every promise, our Savior Jesus Christ.

These readings remind us that every believer needs to spend time personally reading God’s love letter, His Word. It is through Scripture that we come to know His heart, His will, and His ways. When we gather together after being filled by His Word, the Lord builds up His church and activates the giftings of the Holy Spirit within each of us so that we can strengthen one another in love.

When we meet: Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM

    Worship Baptism Service

Saturday November 15th at 2 PM

e are excited to announce our first combined Worship Baptism Service here at Bella Vista Church, taking place on Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 PM.

This will be a powerful time of worship, testimony, and celebration as we gather to lift up the name of Jesus and witness the transforming work He is doing in the lives of new believers. Several people have recently come to faith and are preparing to take this important step of baptism.

As we come together, our desire is to remain open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. In Scripture, we see that when people accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, baptism often followed soon after. We want to make space for that same Spirit-led response today. If anyone comes to faith in Christ during our service, we are ready to celebrate with them through baptism as the Spirit moves.

If you would like to learn more about Jesus or feel the Lord calling you to be baptized, please reach out and take part in this special day of worship and new beginnings.

We are also planning another Worship Baptism Service on Friday, December 6 (time to be announced). We look forward to all that God will continue to do as we gather in unity, praise, and love for our Savior.

Please continue praying that the Lord will draw many hearts to Himself and that His Spirit will move mightily during this upcoming service.

    Church Membership and Welcome Ceremony

    Sunday November 9th

Next week, we are excited to celebrate a very special occasion at Bella Vista Church as Brandon and Levi Magnus officially join our church family as members!

At the end of our service, we will hold a Welcome Ceremony, where we will extend to them the Right Hand of Fellowship as a sign of love, unity, and belonging in the body of Christ.

Following the service, we will share a Potblessing Lunch together. This will be a wonderful time to fellowship, celebrate what God is doing among us, and give thanks for how He continues to grow our church family.

“So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”
    Romans 12:5

    Becoming a Member

If you would like to become a member of Bella Vista Church of God of Prophecy, please speak with Pastor Timothy. He will arrange a time for you to attend our Membership Class, where you can learn more about what it means to be part of our church family, our beliefs, and how we serve together in unity.

As a local church, we are part of the Church of God of Prophecy, but more importantly, we are an extension of the greater Body of Christ. Every believer has unique gifts and callings, and our church has a place and purpose within God’s plan.

Membership is a way to affirm that calling, walk together in faith, and partner in what God is doing through His people.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
    1 Corinthians 12:27

    Prayer Requests

This Week’s Prayer Focus – Seeking God Together

Scripture reminds us that prayer is powerful because it brings us into alignment with the heart and will of God. Jesus said in John 14:13–14, “Whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” And in 1 John 5:14, we are reminded, “If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

When we come together in prayer, we are not just presenting our desires to God, but seeking His purposes and joining in His work. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done,” reminding us that true prayer is not about getting our way but about trusting His perfect way.

As we lift up these requests before the Lord, let us pray with faith, unity, and thanksgiving, knowing that He hears us and will answer according to His will. May our prayers draw us closer to His heart and deepen our confidence in His goodness and faithfulness.

    Walter Doroshuk – New Request

Please keep Bishop Walter in your prayers. Yesterday, Sister Claudia took him to the ER after he began experiencing chest pain and discomfort.

At 4:17 PM, Claudia shared that Walter was being evaluated and was having an EKG

Later that evening, at 7:58 PM, she reported that the EKG was good-praise God, and they had been placed in a room. However, Walter was still in significant pain, and his blood pressure was high at 215 over 119.

At 11:20 PM, Bishop Walter sent an update saying that he had been released from the hospital. All tests came back negative, showing no issues with his heart or lungs. The doctors believe he has inflammation of the esophagus or stomach lining, which is now being treated.

This morning at 9:27 AM, Bishop Walter shared that he is feeling much better, adding with his usual humor, “At least they tell me I have a good heart, so I’m still a good-hearted guy!”

Let’s continue to lift Bishop Walter and Sister Claudia in prayer for complete healing, comfort, and renewed strength. May God’s peace and presence surround them both.

    Rod Doroshuk – Continued Prayer

Please continue to pray for Rod Doroshuk. Two Saturdays ago, Rod suffered a major heart attack and his heart stopped on the way to the hospital. Praise God, he was revived, and doctors discovered a full blockage. He was released home the following Tuesday and is now feeling much better, though the doctors have asked him to rest as some damage and scarring remain. Let’s pray for Rod’s complete healing and strength, and that God will fully restore his heart and continue to show His power and grace in Rod’s life.

    Nanette’s Health – Continued Prayer

Pray for continued healing, comfort, and strength from the Lord for our dear sister Nanette.

    Robbie Wolfe – Continued Prayer
Robbie is new to our church and joined us recently. He is new to the area and looking for a place to live. Please pray that God will provide the right housing for him as he settles here in Vernon.

    Christel Ellis – Continued Prayer

Pray for continued healing in her lower left leg and foot. Please pray for her blood work to remain normal during this new treatment and that the cancer count would continue to decrease. Thank you for your prayers and intercession.

    Claudia Doroshuk – Continued Prayer
Please continue to pray for healing for Claudia Doroshuk, who had foot surgery a few weeks ago.

    ESL Ministry – Continued Prayer
Pray for God’s direction in this ministry, that He would continue to draw souls to Himself. Please ask the Lord if He would have you serve in this area of ministry.

Spiritual Growth in Our Church – Continued Prayer
Ask God to help us to continue to mature in faith and deepen our understanding of His Word through our study of 1 Corinthians.

    K.A

Please join us in praying for a sister in The Lord who is trying to navigate the family legal system and all that is being thrown at her from the world.  Pray that God's will would be accomplished and that He would shelter her from the stress and the weapons of the evil one.  Please pray that He would work out the best possible outcome for her young children.

    Neufeld Family – Continued Prayer
Please keep the Neufeld family in your prayers. Esther, the mother, went home to be with Jesus after a long battle with cancer. While we rejoice that she is with her Savior, we grieve with the family and ask the Lord to bring them comfort and peace during this time of loss. Please especially pray for their teenage daughters still at home, that the Lord will minister to them and surround them with His love and care.

    L Brobbel – Continued Prayer
Please pray for our daughter's friend who goes for testing next week for a mass found in her stomach. Pray that this is not anything serious and that God would protect her and use her for big Kingdom purposes during her time on earth.

Community of Vernon and Bella Vista – Continued Prayer
Please ask God to draw people to Himself and that He would use His church to proclaim The only Name by which we might be saved!

Homeless, Hurting and Addicted in Vernon – Continued Prayer
Pray for those in Vernon who are hurting, homeless or struggling with addiction. Ask The Lord to bring deliverance, healing, and hope to their lives, and to show us as a church how we can help them in love and truth.

Fresh Growth in the Next Generation – Continued Prayer
Pray that God would bring young people and families with children to our church, and that we would welcome them with open arms and hearts.

Those Struggling with Faith or Discouragement – Continued Prayer
Lift up those who are weary, distant, or unsure. Pray that The Holy Spirit renews and uplifts them.

Personal Boldness in Sharing the Gospel – Continued Prayer
Ask the Lord to give us grace, love, gentleness, and confidence to live and speak the truth of Jesus in our daily lives and as we go on mission with Him.

If you have a prayer request, please let us know by emailing [email protected].

We are honored to stand with you in prayer and believe with you for God’s provision, healing, and direction.

    Praise Reports

This Week’s Praise Reports – Giving Glory to God

The psalmist declares, “I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds” (Psalm 9:1). Giving praise is more than words; it is our heartfelt response to the goodness and faithfulness of God.

When we share praise reports, we shine a light on what the Lord is doing in our midst. Testimonies remind us that God is alive, active, and worthy of our trust in every circumstance.

As we give thanks together this week, let us lift our hearts in worship and joy, celebrating the many ways He is working through our church family and community.

As a family of faith, let us be intentional about praising God together and declaring His goodness in all things.

    ESL Ministry

Praise God for how He continues to move through our ESL Ministry! This week, Bel, one of our helpers who has come from India, shared his powerful testimony of how reading and listening to God’s Word in English not only helped him learn the language, but also deepened his understanding of the truths of Scripture.

We give thanks to the Lord for how He is using this ministry to reach hearts, teach English, and share the Gospel. God is truly at work, and we rejoice in how He is drawing people to Himself through the power of His Word.

    Answered Prayers for Healing
Several people in our church family have shared how God is answering prayers for health and recovery. We rejoice in His sustaining grace and healing! Let us continue in a spirit of humility, repentance and reverence before a holy God!

Unity and Growth in 1 Corinthians Study
Give thanks that God is using our study through 1 Corinthians to deepen our understanding of His Word and to strengthen our unity as a church family.

If you have a testimony or answered prayer to share, we would love to celebrate it with you. Your story may be the encouragement someone else needs this week.

    Giving

If you would like to support the ministry of Bella Vista Church, you can give by e-transfer to [email protected]. Charitable receipts will be issued for donations of $20.00 or more.

We are grateful for every gift and for the faithfulness of those who continue to give. At the beginning of the summer, our church account held around $20,000, and it is now closer to $4,000. Some needed work on the parsonage and a decrease in overall giving have brought us to this point as we continue through a season of transition. Several members have moved away or been called elsewhere, yet we trust that The Lord knows our needs and is faithful to provide.

If you feel led to give, we would deeply appreciate your support. More importantly, we ask you to pray that God will bring and unite the people He is calling to be part of our church family and mission.

Scripture reminds us that The Lord loves a cheerful giver and that each person should give as they feel led in their heart. Everything we have belongs to Him, and as faithful stewards, we honor God by returning the first portion, our tithe, as an act of worship and trust.

Let us continue walking together as a generous and giving body, confident that The Lord will supply every need according to His riches in glory.

    Final Thoughts

As we look ahead to the coming week, I am filled with gratitude for what God is doing in our church family. His presence is drawing us closer together in worship, in His Word, and in love for one another. Whether we gather for Bible Study, prepare for baptism, or join in Sunday worship, may our hearts stay centered on Jesus and open to the leading of The Holy Spirit.

Let’s continue to love God and love people with all that we are. Every time we thank Him, serve, pray, or encourage one another, we reflect His heart to the world around us. I believe The Lord is building something beautiful among us, and each one of us is a part of  His story!

May this week be filled with His peace, His joy, and His guiding presence in every step you take.
