My INsnyde Take...Leftist Snipers: Shooting Democrats Before Republicans Even Load Their Guns |
|
Oh good — nothing says “helping the ticket” like some Democrats spending their energy whispering GOP talking points. Watching some self-styled "leftists" heap dirt on Beau for not being a Hoosier is peak political self-sabotage — especially when the Republicans themselves have quietly moved on because their own candidate wasn’t exactly a hometown poster child. The more this kerfuffle plays out, the clearer it becomes that the only people this helps are the people who enjoy watching Democrats hand victories to Republicans on a silver platter. As one reader put it after watching my interview with Beau Bayh's dad: “The more people bash Beau, the more I support him.” If that doesn’t sting, nothing will. So-called “leftists” of the Democrat Party like to shoot some Democratic candidates in the foot before the Republicans even get their guns loaded. The SnydeReport picks a side — the Democratic side — and we’re not going to stand for internecine petty attacks that smell like opportunism dressed up as principle. If you want to beat Tippy Toe Diego, bring policy, competence and a better campaign — not recycled smear tactics and juvenile memes. Stop helping the other side look competent by acting like you’re angling for a press release from the opposition. Gary Snyder, The SnydeReport |

Possible BlackRock purchase of AES could raise rates At a time when AES Indiana is already asking state regulators to approve a rate hike that would increase Hoosiers’ electric bills by an average of $21 a month, some consumer advocates believe it may not stop there. |
|
Recent protests expand to smaller Indiana communities But big cities like Indianapolis and Fort Wayne aren’t the only communities where Hoosiers are exercising their First Amendment rights. People are gathering in Columbus, Batesville, Oldenburg, Franklin, Decatur and other small cities, towns and counties. |
|
AES leaders defend proposed rate hike AES filed a regulatory rate review with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission in June to increase rates for its more than 500,000 Indianapolis-area customers by 13.5% over the next year and a half. |

Rolling in Dough, Crying Poor: The Hoosier Budget Hustle Lawmakers built the budget on a fantasy of decline, slashing 10% from agencies and cutting child care, all while money poured in faster than Braun’s press team could spin it. The result? Indiana’s sitting on a mountain of cash while pretending it’s broke — a masterclass in performative austerity. |

Reporters leave Pentagon en masse after refusing to sign on to new rules... Dozens of reporters turned in access badges and exited the Pentagon on Wednesday rather than agree to government-imposed restrictions on their work, pushing journalists who cover the American military further from the seat of its power. The nation’s leadership called the new rules “common sense” to help regulate a “very disruptive” press. |

YIKES: SWASTIKA FOUND IN GOP CONGRESSMAN'S OFFICE Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio) said Wednesday he’s working with Capitol Police to investigate a swastika image found on display in his Washington, D.C., office. The image, seen on a virtual work call behind the desk of his staffers, was obtained and confirmed by Politico earlier Wednesday after The Rooster, an Ohio politics newsletter, first shared it on social media. |
