| FLH hounds participated in the Burwell Invitational, hunting well for NHH huntsman David (Dude) Kruger on Thursday and Saturday. Then, we launched into Kansas Hunt Week! FLH was one of four hunts to provide sport during the week. Participants/riders included hunters from MVH, FLH, FHH, Bridlespur, and the Kimberton Hunt Club |

| Hunt Week kicked off on Tuesday the 7th with MVH and Big Sky hounds hunting together at MVH's Fin & Feather fixture under the guidance of Big Sky huntsman Angela Murray. The weather was ideal, overcast, moist, and cool. On Wednesday, the mixed pack was hunted by MVH huntsman Ryan Beer. |

| Thursday, FLH hounds went out at Division Ranch in the Flint Hills. Friday, Flint Hills Hunt hounds provided good sport at the Matfield Green fixture. The week wrapped up with FHH's Jim Beisel hunting FHH and FLH hounds at the Settlers Acre fixture. We appreciate Jim taking over when our own huntsman was hobbling about with an injured leg! This hunt kicked off our autumn hunting. |

Keep in mind we have a landing page with information for landowners that gives enough details to help potential landowners decide if they're willing to entertain conversations about permitting access to their land. View the page here. Activities and Membership/Recruitment
We are planning to participate at EquiFest in January. The event is returning to Topeka's Stormont Vail Event Center (formerly ExpoCenter) this year. NEEDED: A chairperson for the membership/recruitment committee. The more members we have, the less likely it is that we'll have to raise dues significantly! Keep in mind that new folks won't be comparing their experience with us to what we've done in the past, and we still have plenty to offer. We'd especially like to recruit more social members. We have a couple folks on this committee, but they are also participating on other committees, so we need more members to get involved. Staff/Hound Training With Hunt Week behind us, we will resume training for drag hunting. Wednesday outings will vary between mounted exercise and drag hunting as we work up to our first actual drag hunt. Please watch Facebook or GroupMe for last-minute changes to what is posted in the calendar. |

| Receive Recognition for FLH Volunteerism |
| |
| As FLH is part of the Fort Leavenworth Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (FMWR) program, members of the Fort Leavenworth Hunt can record and receive recognition from Fort Leavenworth for volunteer hours spent supporting the hunt. Recording volunteer hours is an individual choice and not a requirement, but is strongly supported by the FLH Masters. Recording hours both allows for individual recognition by Fort Leavenworth FMWR and for Fort Leavenworth leadership to understand the significant time contributed by our members to make FLH successful as an organization. The guide to the right will take you through the process of registering, applying for positions, and recording your hours. Please contact Jessica Kudzia with any questions. |

| LAC Information -- NOTICE |
Due to the government shutdown, Local Access Credentials (LACS) are not being processed. If you happened to have had a LAC approved recently and hadn't picked it up, you will not be able so as the VCC is closed. You may still obtain a temporary (24-hour) pass at the front gate. Plan for an extra 10 or 15 minutes for processing.
