Hey! Welcome to the first edition of this newsletter. This issue aims to be a quick recap of the major things that I've had come up since we last were in touch, so that going forward we can hit the ground running with the new stuff!

Depending on how long it's been, there's quite a lot that could have come out, so this message will stay pretty high-level!

New books!

Since 2017, I've had three books come out:

The Distributed Classroom in 2021, published by MIT Press and co-authored by Charles Isbell, now Chancellor of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Teaching at Scale in 2022, published by Routledge.
A Teacher's Guide to Conversational AI in 2024, published by Routledge.

New MOOCs!

Since 2017, I've had a handful of new courses come out available as MOOCs:

ChatGPT for Educators, a three-course professional certificate available via edX.
Uncommon Sense Teaching: Teaching Online, part of a larger specialization available via Coursera.
The Human-Computer Interaction certificate, a four-course professional certificate available via edX.

And of course, my Introduction to Python Programming professional certificate series remains available!

As a bot!

About a year ago, I launched DAI-vid, an AI chatbot for my web site that is trained on my papers, books, articles, and CV. Now, you can use that to chat with my research, explore more what I've been working on, and get answers to some frequently asked questions... or more realistically, you can chat with it and test out what kinds of stuff it can and can't answer!

For now it can only do text, but more may be coming soon...
