Danping Wang, Programme Lead of Chinese and Associate Professor at the University of Auckland, will invite us to take a nuanced look at teaching Languages in the age of AI with a presentation entitled Blaming the Bot? Why Our Struggles with AI Point to Deeper Pedagogical Gaps. Ross Halliday, Primary Project Leader at the University of Melbourne will unpack explicit teaching and identify how it can inform quality design of Languages curriculum. There will also be innovative workshops presented by Languages educators and opportunities to network and collaborate with colleagues. |

Arrange an online conversation with the LTV Publications Committee and we’ll help you clarify your angle and map a simple path to a short article for Languages Victoria, the professional e-journal of Language Teachers Victoria (LTV). Why contribute? Writing for Languages Victoria is a chance to: - Showcase your practice

| As an LTV member you are represented by AFMLTA: the national voice for teachers of Languages. AFMLTA provides vision, leadership, advocacy, resources and support and for quality teaching and learning of languages. |
|
Babel is the journal published by the AFMLTA and distributed to members of the Languages Teachers Associations across Australia. The latest volume (3 issues) included articles relating to the National Languages Plan and Strategy project. The former Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment engaged the AFMLTA to undertake this project with key stakeholders, nationally. Look out for the next issue of Babel - it will feature some of the keynote presentations from the recent AFMLTA Conference and will be sent to 2025 LTV members soon. |

| More Languages Join Victorian Curriculum 2.0 |
|
Victorian Curriculum F-10 Version 2.0 Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, Vietnamese, Roman Alphabet Languages, Non-Roman Alphabet Languages, Classical Greek, Latin and the Framework for Classical Languages have been published on the VCAA website. They are now accessible for all schools, teachers and students. |

New VCE CCAFL Languages Videos |
|
Six new on-demand videos are now available on the VCAA website for VCE CCAFL Languages. The videos cover: planning a 2-year program; viewing – the 5th macro skill; the Australian focus; selecting subtopics; writing effective prompts and; designing effective integrated tasks. |
