Hi! Yes, I am a broken record. How is the month of August half over? Time continues to fly. Are you experiencing it too? Here are a few updates from the Sisters: I, Margaret Kay, have been busy with in-person events, teaching a writing class I do for a kid's program for 2 months every summer at a local community college, I love it! I am still on track to get 2 more Shepherd Security books out this year. Operation: Silent Angel (Yvette's story is coming along nicely with a release date in October). Many readers have asked for it, so I have decided to write a sequel to my family drama/contemporary romance story, That First Year. It will be titled That Second Year. I will begin work on it in January with an anticipated release in April. If you haven't read That First Year yet, I would be honored if you checked it out! Charlie Roberts is still working on final edits to her book, Seduced at Stevens Street. It will be out a little later than planned, but it is coming soon. RK Cary is currently retired from writing, but isn't ruling out completing one of the several projects she has in process at some point.

Book #18 in the Shepherd Security Series! Yvette's story. There is more to our favorite Ops Analyst than meets the eye. Also included in this book is the short story that was in the Masquerade Ball anthology, my story, Mission Masquerade. It stars Shepherd and Diana and is an important part of Yvette's story! ANOTHER LOOK INSIDE: Once in the garage she dropped the junk mail in the recycling bin and then stepped up to the front passenger side of the car. She pulled her backpack out and slung it over one shoulder. Before she made it to the door that led into the house, a figure moved on her from the front of the car. He moved fast and was on her at about the same time she identified the threat. She swung her heavy backpack, striking him in the head and followed up with a knee that hit only his leg, rather than his crotch, the intended target. He body-checked her into the wall beside the door leading into the house. She landed a right cross on his jaw, before she saw his face. “What the fuck!” she said. “Getting sloppy, Red,” he said, not even winded. He grabbed her by the shoulders. His body pressed against hers, pinning her to the wall. Yvette stared into the familiar pale green eyes with a heavy speckling of brown in the irises. “You’re the only one who has ever been able to sneak up on me.” She smiled and then she reached her lips to his. His lips met hers halfway and he pressed her more tightly to the wall as his tongue invaded her mouth. “Is everything okay in there?” a voice familiar to Yvette called from outside of the garage. Yvette tore her lips from his and craned her head around him to see her neighbor, Charles and his beautiful German shepherd, Toby, standing in her driveway near the street. Charles was peering in with a concerned expression on his face. “Yep, just fine. Thanks for checking.” Her gaze re-affixed on him and she smiled. She reached her hand up and pressed the switch to close the garage door. “Enjoy your walk, Charles.” As the door rolled closed, her lips once again pressed to his, and she kissed him with everything she had.
