Dear Fellow FLH Members,



As you know, the Easton Hunt Country (McGuire’s) is under contract for sale, with a projected closing date in early July 2025. The future owner, through their land manager, entertained initial discussion from us regarding the possibility of continued access by FLH to the property. Regrettably, the future owner has responded that their plans for the property (“high-end hunting property for whitetails and turkeys for myself, family and friends”) would be unacceptably inhibited by any future use by “another party”.



In view of this, we are working to develop other suitable locations for hunting, and we will address our progress on that during the Annual Membership Meeting which will be held on Sunday, 13 April 2025.



Regarding our retrograde from McGuire’s: FLH access to the property is ensured through the closing date of the sale. Between now and then we will be working to identify and then relocate to suitable storage all Army and or Leavenworth Fox Hunters Association (LFA) property. We intend to hold our Annual Membership Meeting in the McGuire’s clubhouse, and we are planning a “Farewell Trail Ride”, cookout, and bonfire for FLH members and invited guests (date TBD).



The loss of McGuire’s clearly represents the end of an era. However, with the sustained support of members and friends, we believe FLH can continue to provide the opportunity for mounted fox hunting to our soldiers and their families as well as our retired military and civilian communities.
