As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, I am asking that you consider visiting some of the historic sites in Indiana that highlight the great diversity of our state:
|
|
Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis (Marion County) |
|
I serve on the Board of Directors of the Indiana State Museum and Historical Sites. Several years ago, we raised the funds to open the Levi and Catharine Coffin Interpretive Center. The Center honors the courageous efforts of Levi and Catharine Coffin, key figures in the Underground Railroad. The Center features exhibits detailing their work in assisting fugitive slaves, interactive displays, and artifacts that bring the history of this period to life. Central to the Center is the meticulously preserved Coffin House, known as the "Grand Central Station" of the Underground Railroad. Visitors can explore this historic home and gain a deeper understanding of the Coffins' dedication to the abolitionist cause, making the Center a powerful testament to their enduring legacy and the fight for freedom. I wanted to inform you of these small contributions that have been made to preserve the history of Blacks in Indiana. Our state's diversity cannot be denied...it is part of our proud history. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. |

Let your voice be heard. Send us your experiences, and help us shine a light on the real impact of these policies on everyday lives. Together, we can hold them accountable... |

Police: Mooresville H.S. threat uncovered through tip to Wisconsin investigators
The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Friday their department received a tip that actually identified a different person as a possible suspect in a school threat case — a 19-year-old woman in Addison, Wisconsin. Though investigators could not determine a locally targeted school, they continued their investigation and took the 19-year-old into custody.

HAMILTON COUNTY IS UNDENIABLY BIPARTISANNot long ago, Hamilton County, Indiana, was a GOP stronghold with uncontested general election races and a longstanding political monopoly. Today, we are undeniably a bipartisan county that is politically balanced. |

What We Face
The occasional trolls who visit this site to register their approval of these illegal and unconstitutional measures discount their illegality, confirming disdain for what is a significant protection of individual liberty–the insistence that the ends cannot justify the means. |

SULLIVAN: TRUMP ALREADY FAILING?
The words “shock and awe” describe the first month of the second Trump administration pretty well, it seems to me. It’s been a blitzkrieg of executive orders, mass firings, violations of laws and norms, wanton cruelty for the sick, destitute, and hungry, and performative administrative chaos as far as the eye can see — all designed to paralyze and stun what’s left of the opposition. |

Trump strangles Europe
President Trump stunned, strangled and humiliated Europe — leaving America's closest continental ally dazed and dumbfounded. |

White House Makes Cruel Valentine's Day Joke On Social Media

How Trump's MAGA Agenda Is Already Sticking It To Red America
Early in Donald Trump’s first term, Steve Bannon met with some House Republicans who were wavering on whether to vote for a Trump-backed bill that would have slashed Medicaid, the federal-state program that today pays medical bills for about 72 million low-income Americans.
