Dear CWOs, 



As we all process the tragic loss of ME1 Michael T. Horan, who was killed in the line of duty on December 23, 2024, I want to ensure that we, as a community, rally behind this effort to honor his memory and support his family. The Coast Guard is posthumously promoting ME1 Horan to CWO2, and his friends are organizing a meaningful gift for his family, which includes collecting CWOA coins from all chapters to present as a gesture of solidarity and respect. 



While chapters are contributing their coins, I’d like to encourage all of our CWOs who have personal or command coins to consider contributing as well. We are a small community, and it is in times like these that we need to show our unwavering support for one of our own and their family.
