| We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done by Page Ahead Children's Literacy Organization and its Literacy Manager, Lisa Ceniceros! The crucial connection between literacy and lifelong success has inspired this team to empower at-risk students in Washington state by providing new books and developing reading activities. Now that school is back in session, Page Ahead is making some big changes and increasing their impact. By expanding their Book Up Summer and Story Leaders programs and moving into eight new schools, they will be able to provide an additional 17,000 books to 1,400 new students! They will also be training 15 new Story Time volunteers, giving people the opportunity to share their love of reading with Pre-K and Kindergarten students. The chance to share her insights and learn from other like-minded organizations is the reason Lisa joined the NBAA community. If, like her, you are always interested in finding new and improved ways to promote literacy and increase book access for those who need it, we'd love for you to join us! |
