News for Action
A bi-monthly newsletter to spread the seeds and connect the dots.

New Parliament, New Opportunities

This newsletter arrives with the Summer Solstice and within a day of a General Election. The new parliament will be packed with new faces, eager to get to work. It will be full of opportunities to spread fresh ideas about what really counts, especially preventing children from suffering and toxic stress.

The whole sector labouring to address community and individual adversities should be aware that a new field of action will open up, and it must take every opportunity to point out the effects of cumulative toxic stress which has for so long been rising. Whether those discussions deliver genuinely ‘new times’ will depend on much that will unfold in due course; what’s clear is the need to raise our voices and act.

Summer in England is never quite what we expect, but it teaches us to appreciate the warm moments when nature seems to smile. Look out for references later to reviving our relationship with nature!
