FLH members and friends:
I would like to give an update regarding my future plans as they relate to the hunt. As many of you know, my previous shoulder surgery has left me in worse shape than I was before, so I will be undergoing surgery again in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, that will keep me out of the saddle for most of the remainder of the season. In addition, Alisa and I have decided it’s time to move closer to our children, so we will be putting our farm on the market sometime before the end of the year.
I fully intend to return to hunting the hounds once I've healed, however the length of time that I will continue doing so will depend on how quickly our house sells. During my absence, Teresa will be stepping up as back-up huntsman and, after my eventual departure, as the official FLH huntsman.
It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as a member of the staff, joint master, and huntsman over the last 12 years. I want to thank those of you who have supported the hounds and my efforts to develop a pack that consistently shows good sport. Until the end of the current term, I will continue to participate as much as I can, support the joint masters, and share my logistical knowledge, either from here or from afar. Even after my departure, my heart will always be with the hounds I’ve had the privilege to breed and develop over the last eight seasons as huntsman.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions, would like more details, or just want to discuss the sport that’s become a part of my soul.
Steve
