Volunteers Needed

We need your help to make these upcoming events a success!  Volunteers are needed for:

  • Community Halloween Party on October 24th 4 to 7 PM: Help make this annual party a success! Assist with activities, crafts, games or restocking snack tables.
  • Music Night on November 28th 5 to 7 PM: Musicians needed to demonstrate and talk about instruments: seagull guitar, banjo, drums, Juno Synthesizer, Therimini, Boom Whackers, bells, lyre, and more.

Makerspace

Introducing the NEMI Public Library Makerspace!  This is a collection of communal tools for making, learning, exploring and sharing. Equipment is available to be used in the library during regular library hours by members of NEMI Public Library who have completed all necessary training and demonstrated the ability to use the equipment safely.

Senior COMPASS News

Seniors recently attended a Flower Arranging Workshop with Jenn from Rainbow Farm North. They learned about native plants, fresh flower care and created their own stunning bouquets.

We are starting a Walking Club! Interested in joining other seniors for regular walks for fitness and social time? Email Gloria at [email protected]

Senior COMPASS Book Club's first book selection is Traveling with Pomegranetes. Discussion will take place Tuesday October 15th at 1PM.  Copies of the book are available to borrow from the library.

3 to 5 PM

Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool.  Join Kathy to learn to use it to create a card.  

This is for individuals who have not previously attended a Canva Basics information session at the library

Music Night at the Library

Please note: The October meeting of the NEMI Public Library Board will be October 22nd at 4pm at the library, 50 Meredith St. West.  The board usually meets the third Tuesday of the month, but this meeting will be held one week later than usual.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

Our library has a collection of decodable books and information for parents and students about dyslexia.

October 15 through October 25th, the library will be lit up red at night for the Canada Wide Dyslexia Awareness Mark it Read Campaign.
