Renewable Bermagui Launch Event Recap

We were thrilled by the attendance and support at our first event, the Renewable Bermagui Launch and Energy Expo on July 28th. We had over 130 attendees joining the event at the Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club, showing the huge local interest in renewable technology, electricity cost savings, and energy resilience.

We want to thank Rodney Kelly for his generous and gracious Welcome to Country at the opening of the event. We are also grateful to all our presenters, including Dr Matthew Nott, founder of Clean Energy for Eternity (CEFE), and Zena Armstrong, President of Renewable Cobargo. The very knowledgeable David Neyle guided us through understanding electricity bills and the latest efficient technologies. The FixItChicks (Jen & Lish) joined us from Canberra to talk about affordable ways to make our homes more comfortable. Local art and children's educator Caitlin Brown kept our youngest attendees engaged with a wonderful kids' art workshop.

Another shout-out goes to the local installers that took part in the "Energy Expo" section of the event. We've heard that the Expo has already led to some new installations of solar, under-floor insulation and other energy-saving technologies - awesome, and keep them coming!

Big thanks to Clean Energy for Eternity (CEFE) and Renewable Cobargo for their support in helping us launch, and for their leadership in community energy initiatives in Bega Valley. We also thank the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) for contributing to the cost of the event.

Community Energy Survey

Thank you to everyone who completed our Community Energy Survey. The survey is now closed, with over 50 responses. Your input will help us understand the biggest areas of interest and concern that the community has related to energy, and will help guide our next projects. We are now looking through the results and plan to share the key take-aways with you in the coming weeks (keeping everything anonymous, of course).
