News for Action
A bi-monthly newsletter to spread the seeds and connect the dots.

Trauma magnified - Love Wins!

If we needed any reminders of the dangers of racism, they have come from recent events of disorder across parts of the UK. Memories of violence, personal and communal, have been triggered by these painful and disturbing sights.

Yet there have been robust answers from the large gatherings which came together in hope and solidarity. Who is listening to these voices? Many are and they will keep getting louder as they come from understanding and love.

A new government has arrived, setting a new scene for inclusive discussion of childhood trauma and its manifold effects. The current crisis is being documented by many reports, including from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition, cited in our newsletter.

The time is ripe to open up new lines of connection among the disparate organisations and individuals who are working with all the populations affected by multiple traumas and hardship. A common platform should be established across every part of the UK, instigating a coherent policy based on science and lived experience, and motivated by compassion.

Let’s keep doing our part here in London, joining our voices and inner and outer strengths!
