The AI fantasies illustrating the student stories: Watch the videos now

To honor the contributions of all participating students, including those whose stories did not progress to the stage, we collaborated with our multimedia agency partner, Heimspiel. They documented the co-creation process and brought the students' visions to life through animated videos. Using AI-generated images and 3D applications, Heimspiel has created visual representations of each story.

We invite you to view the videos produced by Heimspiel, which showcase the submitted stories, which have not been chosen to be staged.

As we move forward, we anticipate seeing how the student stories will evolve in upcoming months into a full-fledged opera production. We extend our gratitude to all students, educators, and partners involved in pawing the way for sustainable opera future.

Students' Co-Creation Journey: The Digital Book was published

High school students from Gdańsk (PL), Helsinki (FI), and Modena (IT) have submitted nine stories in response. The concerns about environmental sustainability and societal harmony permeate through all of the stories, nevertheless only three will be transformed into librettos. Which topics resonated with the students the most?

We invite you to explore all nine student-created stories in The Digital Book of Project Butterfly Students’ Co-creation Journey. This collection showcases all stories written by the young participants and offers a glimpse into the narratives that will shape our upcoming opera, whose working title is Elements for the Future. Dive into stories about greenwashing, pollution, the representation of nonhuman entities, and the impact of the climate crisis on human relationships.

Explore the Digital Collection on our website!
