Save the Frogs Day: VoNat Raises Awareness on the Plight of World’s Largest Frog in Cameroon

Frog lovers and organizations across the world used April 28, 2024, which is Save the Frogs Day, to carry out actions that demonstrate their love for one frog species or another. Voice of Nature (VoNat) used the Day to raise further awareness on the plight of the world’s largest frog, goliath frog (Conraua goliath), undergoing wanton depletion in the Mount Nlonako Area, Littoral Region of Cameroon (between 4°49’-4°56’N and from 9°56’-10°01’E). VoNat, Partners Promote Regenerative Agriculture for Conservation in Mount Cameroon Area

Voice of Nature (VoNat) has joined forces with Regenerative Agriculture Hub and Eco-Warriors to promote regenerative agriculture practices in the Mount Cameroon Area. The organization and its partners, from April 22 to 24, 2024, sensitized over 25 households in the Mount Cameroon Area on regenerative agriculture. They also provided hands-on training to some farmers and community children/young adults on liquid fertilizer production. Read More

Kids in Buea Produce Media Arts Tools for Climate Justice

While youth/kids in most parts of the world have refused to be passive victims of the climate crisis, those in Buea and other parts of Cameroon continued to be worried and helpless, but not anymore! With the support of McGinnity Family Foundation (MFF) and Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), Voice of Nature (VoNat) has collaborated with Praise Baptist Academy to empower over 70 children in Buea-Cameroon for climate action. The youngsters are currently being guided to produce media arts tools that they will be using in the days ahead to advocate for climate justice. Read More

Eco-Warriors Establishes Regenerative Vegetable Garden in Bokova

A network of kids and youths for endangered species conservation and environmental sustainability in the Mount Cameroon Area, Eco-Warriors, operation under the mentorship of Voice of Nature (VoNat) has established a regenerative vegetable garden in Government High School (GHS) Buea Rural, Bokova, South West Cameroon. According to the Vice President of Eco-Warriors, Kobbi Noel, the regenerative vegetable garden will serve as a demonstration site for the training of farmers in adjacent communities to the Mount Cameroon National Park on regenerative agriculture. Climate Impacts in Buea as Captured by Children

Voice of Nature (VoNat), from March 24 to 30, 2024 engaged some 70 kids (10 to 15 years) in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon in gathering the impacts of climate change in their communities. This was aimed at boosting the understanding of these youngsters about the climate crisis and igniting in them the passion for climate action and climate justice. Read More

VoNat Raises Consciousness Against Forest Depletion Through Storytelling

Voice of Nature (VoNat) in collaboration with the Eco-Warriors of Government High School (GHS) Buea Rural, has raised awareness on the negative effects of forest and biodiversity depletion amongst over 200 young people in the Mount Cameroon Area through a traditional storytelling session. This was during a one day programme organized at at GHS Buea Rural mark the 2024 International Day of the Forest commemorated on the theme: Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World.
