SEFI DEANS CONVENTION

The European Convention for Engineering Deans, which will be hosted at The University of Sheffield, will be happening soon on 12-14 June 2024. It brings together Deans, Heads of Department and Directors of Education from all over Europe to discuss common issues in higher engineering education.

With her varied experience and understanding of different sectors, Klara is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the organization, steering it towards new opportunities in the field of engineering education, further anchoring SEFI's position in Brussels.

              SEFI PhD Summer School 2024

              Hosted by the UCL Centre for Engineering Education, PhD candidates gathered in Windsor from Tuesday, 28th - 31st May 2024. The event was a fantastic blend of learning, collaboration, and fun!

              Highlights included strengths training, navigating research pitfalls, creative maker space sessions, discussions on EER, and exploring ethics in engineering research. The evenings were filled with social activities and networking, fostering both professional growth and community spirit.

                (PTEE) Conference 2024

                From June 1st to 3rd, TH Rosenheim hosted the PTEE 2024 Conference with 80 attendees from 12 nations, 50 insightful contributions, 4 workshops, 3 keynotes, and 17 peer-reviewed papers. Day 1 featured inspiring keynotes and collaborative sessions. Day 2 included an exciting excursion and a memorable dinner at 1400m altitude, and Day 3 wrapped up with workshops, poster sessions, and a final keynote — culminating in an unforgettable event!

                          EU leader calls on voters to help defend academic freedom


                          The president of the European Parliament has called on EU voters to defend academic freedom and democracy more broadly in casting votes in the European elections later this week. She warned EU citizens of the “urgent” need to protect European values including academic freedom, adding that the threat to them has been accelerated by digitisation.

                          EU gives final approval for net-zero industry act


                          The Council of the EU has approved a raft of new measures to strengthen Europe's net-zero technology manufacturing industry. This is the last step in the decision-making process on the so-called 'net-zero industry act', which will boost the industrial use of green technologies in the EU.
