FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[LOS ANGELES - April 26, 2024] – Today marks a seismic shift in the hardcore landscape as Los Angeles’ own Authors of Fate release their highly anticipated EP, "Seat's Taken." After months of mounting anticipation fueled by explosive singles and earth-shattering premieres, most recently on New Noise Magazine, this explosive collection of tracks is now officially available. If you act quickly, you can get a limited edition vinyl of both the band’s EPs (this one plus their face-melting debut “You Will One Day Be Thought of for the Last Time”) and capture the releases that are cementing the band's reputation for crafting deeply resonant and aggressively innovative music.

"Seat's Taken" erupts with the raw energy and aggressive innovation that Authors of Fate have become synonymous with. Each track dives deep into the band's signature blend of blackened metalcore, infused with elements of thrash and hardcore, articulating a sound that's both raw and meticulously crafted. each track is a testament to the band’s relentless pursuit of musical perfection and their unapologetic embrace of the genre’s darker, more intense elements.

As the release of their anticipated EP "Seat's Taken" drew near, Authors of Fate generated significant buzz, underscored by premieres and features across major outlets. The campaign kicked off with a single premiere on LambGoat, quickly followed by a music video premiere on Ghost Cult, showcasing the band's dynamic presence. Key features in Metal Insider and on LambGoat's Monthly Metal Playlist further propelled their visibility, while a coveted spot on Metal Hammer's "14 Best Metal Songs List" highlighted their growing acclaim. Additional coverage from Breathing the Core, Canadian Beats, Metal Heads Forever, Digiindie, V13 Media, and an insightful interview with Amplify Music Mag, have collectively fueled excitement and solidified Authors of Fate's reputation as one of the most compelling acts in the modern metalcore scene. These strategic placements have not only broadened their audience but have also set the stage for a groundbreaking release.

"Seat's Taken," was forged in the revered walls of The Pit—Southern California's legendary recording hub—by Taylor Young, whose overwhelming list of studio credits is as impressive as the number of influential acts he’s played in, from God’s Hate and Twitching Tongues to Nails and Deadbody. Despite this overwhelming breadth of expertise, it didn’t prevent The Pit from facing its own trials last September, when an unexpected eviction notice presented Young with the prospect of relocating the studio after 17 years of monumental contributions to the hardcore, punk, and metal scenes. Recorded during a period of tumultuous transition, "Seat's Taken" serves as a testament to the enduring power and influence of The Pit, underlining the EP's raw, explosive energy.

But it’s not even the first time the group have worked with phenomenal producers, having teamed up with the legendary Steve Evetts at Omen Room Studios for their debut EP, “You Will One Day Be Thought of for the Last Time,” harnessing his renowned production prowess to capture the band's dynamic and aggressive sound. Evetts, known for his work with seminal acts such as The Dillinger Escape Plan and Sepultura, brought his expert touch to the project, ensuring that each track delivers both raw energy and polished precision.

If there's one thing that's crystal clear about Authors of Fate's latest EP "Seat's Taken," it's that it doesn't just flirt with ferocity—it marries it. This EP is a roaring engine of pure, unadulterated aggression, particularly in its vehement critique of influencer culture. As you dive into the tracks, what hits you isn't just the barrage of blistering riffs or drums; it's the lyrical savagery that these guys deploy against the vapid façade of social media fame.

"Seat's Taken" unpacks, with surgical precision, the hollow, self-serving nature of influencer culture. It's as if each lyric sheet is a manifesto of disdain, each chord a battle cry against the digital superficiality that's pervading our lives. The band doesn't just voice their displeasure; they shred it into confetti, stomping on the very idea of fame without substance. If you're looking for a soundtrack that matches the intensity of your frustration with the influencer ethos, then "Seat's Taken" should be spinning on your playlist. Loud.

"Seat's Taken" is available now on all major streaming platforms. Dive into the chaos and be part of the underground swell that’s setting the metalcore world on fire. Experience the upheaval that Authors of Fate have crafted, track by heart-pounding track. Because in this arena, there are no bystanders—only those brave enough to take a seat at the table of metalcore’s new overlords.

Are you ready? Because the seat’s taken, and it’s time to rise.

About Authors Of Fate

Emerging from the chaotic heart of Los Angeles comes Authors of Fate, a band that's about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face, wielding their brand of metalcore like a weapon of mass disruption.

Comprised of metal veterans—Elan Mlagenovich shredding the guitar while moonlighting as the group's master planner, Robert Brunelle's vocals, which can only be described as a demonically possessed preacher, Levi "Gizmo" Henderson slapping the bass like it owes him money, Bob Skau demolishing drums, and Joe Williams, the guitar maestro creating riffs that could summon the dead—Authors of Fate isn't just a band; it's an unstoppable force.

Their creative process is akin to a democratic dictatorship, led by Elan but fueled by each member's passion and insanity, ensuring that every track is a collective piece of art. It's organized chaos at its finest, a method to the madness that results in music that's as unpredictable as it is unapologetic. But how did this band of brothers in metal come to be? Picture this: seasoned warriors from the realms of Kaustik, The Slow Forward, Killix, and Ruach, each bearing scars from battles past, coming together with a singular vision—to create music that's not just heard but felt. Music that punches you in the gut, then offers you a beer.

Their influences are as eclectic as the band's sound, drawing inspiration from the darkest corners of metal, the grittiest depths of punk, and the occasional existential crisis. It's a melting pot of heaviness (and madness), resulting in a sound that's distinctly, unapologetically their own.

Unlike the grimdark edgelords that pervade heavy music, however, Authors of Fate are decidedly less sEriOuS about their approach. They might delve into the darker aspects of humanity, but to them, there's always room for a bit of humor — albeit the kind of pitch-black gallows wit found on the front lines. It's the kind of bleak mirth that cuts deep, finding laughter in the macabre and the absurdity of life—much the same way their music confronts the grim reality we live in.

When Authors of Fate step onto the stage, the atmosphere shifts dramatically. The sardonic tone that defines their social media presence falls away, revealing an intensity that's both captivating and unnerving. Live, they're an unstoppable force, merging the ferocity of bands like Black Breath with the technical prowess of Dying Fetus, creating an experience that's not just a performance but a visceral assault on the senses. Their shows are where the true depth of their artistry shines, a place where their eclectic influences—from the suffocating intensity of black metal to the relentless aggression of powerviolence and thrash—collide in a spectacular fusion of sound and fury.

Seat's Taken,” their latest EP, is a sonic middle finger to the world's egocentricity, crafted in the fiery forges of The Pit Studio with Taylor Young at the helm. Young's involvement brings a level of intensity and raw power that only he could muster. Known for his raw, unfiltered sound with Nails, Taylor brings an authenticity to the production that's as gritty as it is polished. His expertise in crafting soundscapes that are both aggressive and articulate elevates the EP, ensuring that the auditory assault Authors of Fate is known for hits with even greater impact. This collaboration is a match made in metal heaven hell, where the fusion of Taylor's powerviolence sensibilities and the band's unbridled blend of heavy results in a sound that's not just heard but felt—a visceral experience that's as raw as it is refined.

Join Authors of Fate as they hit the road with the legends of punk and metal, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (D.R.I.). Touring with D.R.I. isn't just about sharing the stage; it's about sharing a legacy of rebellion, intensity, and raw power. For Authors of Fate, it's where they get to stand tall, shoulder to shoulder with the giants.

With their sights set on domination—of the airwaves, the stages, and the dark hearts of metal fans everywhere—Authors of Fate is on a mission. A mission to bring their unique blend of metalcore to the masses, to create a space where aggression meets artistry, and to prove that heavy music can still surprise you.

Buckle up, folks. It's going to be a loud ride.
