View From the Shelter

As we bid farewell to another year, the Franklin Animal Shelter extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed by donating items and providing financial support to us. With the dawn of the new year comes fresh opportunities, and we are excited to introduce our Foster program. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to foster our cats and dogs, offering them a temporary home outside the shelter.

To participate, interested individuals can reach out to the shelter, but it's essential to note that certain requirements apply. We will be providing more information on this in the coming weeks.  Additionally, we encourage you to stay updated on urgent shelter needs by regularly checking our website's wish list section.

In the coming months, we have planned several exciting fundraising events. Save the dates for our Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball on February 3, our first ever Hike-A-Thon in October, and an Open House scheduled for Sunday, April 14th. Visit our website for detailed information on these events and more.

This year's Open House will feature informative sessions on spaying, neutering, and rabies clinics. Don't forget to register your dog with your City Clerk's office! If you want to help with this or other events, consider joining our volunteer team by contacting us through the website.

For those inclined to contribute financially, we accept donations at events, but we also invite you to become a monthly sustainer donor. Whether it's $10, $25, or more per month, your ongoing support would be greatly appreciated! Help us make a difference by becoming one of our valued monthly donors.  And as always, our thanks to each and every one of you for all the help our community gives us!

Respectfully,

Scott Burns

President, Franklin Animal Shelter Board of Directors

The Franklin Animal Shelter has many demands to fund its charitable mission to care for and re-home the neglected, abused, abandoned, stray, and unwanted cats and dogs of the community.

The support of the community has always been critical to its success and will be even more critical as the Shelter grows. There are many ways to financially support FAS, including immediate one-time donations, memorial donations, pledged giving, deferred giving, volunteering, or donating an item from our Everyday Item Wish List.

We appreciate your generosity!

Community is Everything

The community that the Franklin Animal Shelter continues to be incredible, and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.  This edition we want to give several shout-outs to some local businesses who really felt the spirit of giving over the holidays.  First is Commerford Nieder Perkins, who donated the wonderful assortment of food and supplies shown here.  We also want to give a big shout out to our friends at Ocean State Job Lots in Meredith, who donated a very impressive gift card to us to be used for similar items.  Finally, to the Quality Inn in Concord, for their donation of many towels and linens.  All of these items are greatly appreciated.  You guys are the best!
