| We're very excited to be holding our inaugural Crime and Nourishment author event towards the end of November featuring a great selection of writers from in and around Cambridge, coming together for a pre-Christmas meet-and-chat - with tea and cake. As it's the first time, we've booked a space we hope to fill but, as such, places are limited to 60 - so do grab a ticket now. (Subscribers are first to get the notice but posters and social media posts will be going up later this week.) Each author will talk for an allotted time about their latest titles hitting the shelves this autumn and then all of them will be joining in for a Question and Answer session. After this they'll be available for signing books and general chat. Tea and cake (don't worry, not made by me or Richard) will be available throughout.
I think it promises to be a great afternoon of murder-related enjoyment(!) and an opportunity to meet and mingle with some great writers. Hope to see you there! |

| OREON has a new title out this month. The Doodled Asterisk is a wartime thriller, both complex and compelling. Opening with a vivid, almost visceral, account of a hellish air raid, the novel quickly develops into an engrossing page-turner as the wrongdoers are hunted down and brought to task. The second Walling in the series and definitely a worthy addition.
Then we have an Oleander standalone. A personal project of mine and Richard's, Cressida: No Mystery is a Christmas favourite of ours - but not for any easily-identifiable reason. As I say in the blurb - A fascinating early exploration of relationship dynamics amid the social mores of the time, Cressida: No Mystery documents their unravelling with compassion - and an acerbic humour. As a contemporary review noted: “The style is original, the characterology masterful, the suspense admirable.” |

As announced previously - the OREON giveaway is up, running and going strong. Someone's going to be receiving a box bursting with books - why shouldn't it be you? Enter here. There you go - short and sweet. Have a great one, Jon & Richard |
