Dear friends,
We're happy to share news about Greenhouse Stories. A Critical Re-examination of Transparent Microcosms, a book we just released with the Dutch publisher Onomatopee Projects (The Netherlands).
Featuring contributions by philosophers, growers, anthropologists, activists, scientists, historians, and artists, the publication presents reflections and suggestions to look critically at greenhouses from novel social, historical, environmental, and creative perspectives. Rather than celebrating them as technical prowesses or exceptional architectural feats, Greenhouse Stories is an attempt to unveil the multilayered identity of these instruments of vegetal containment and domestication, casting light on some of the controversies and opportunities they embed.
The book is the result of two years of work and is part of a broader investigation into greenhouses that we started in 2021. Below are more details about its contents. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Greetings from France,
Laura & Olivier
