| Baby Pac-Man is a videogame developed by Bally Midway and released to arcades in 1982. Unlike other Pac-Man games, Baby Pac-Man is a hybrid arcade/pinball machine. Players start in the maze on-screen and can "exit" into the pinball machine to earn power-pellets and fruits. Maze gameplay sections are controlled with a single joystick while the pinball section uses flippers located on the left and right side of the arcade. NVM's Baby Pac-Man cabinet was just restored and made its debut at the March 2023 Texas Pinball Festival - now it's out for play in the Pixel Dreams arcade!

| 3-D WorldRunner is a videogame developed by Square and released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987. Gameplay consists of sprinting and leaping through stages while avoiding enemies and obstacles. At the end of each stage is a boss that is fought in a Space Harrier style with free movement across the screen. The game also features smooth scrolling forward, left, and right - an impressive feat for the system in 1987. Further adding to the novelty of the game is a toggleable 3-D mode that can be played with the originally included 3-D glasses.
3-D WorldRunner was released in 1987 - the same year that also saw Square release the first Final Fantasy (in Japan) to critical acclaim. The game's sprinter character would later make a cameo in Square's Chocobo Racing (1999) on PlayStation.

Just in time for Easter, take a look at this Glitter Mario Paint Easter Egg Decorating Kit from 1993! Contained within are non-toxic glitter paints, Super Mario stickers, and "bonus" Legend of Zelda character cutouts. Not a bad way to change up easter egg painting for the gaming-minded child (or adult)! Aside from the egg-cellent novelty of the kit, it's also one of the few licensed Mario Paint products released in the 1990s. |

Baby-Pac is HERE!
Be sure to check it out along with Video Pinball! |
|
If you fancy yourself a bit of a digital artist, give Mario Paint a try in our game creation corner! Using the provided Super NES Mouse peripheral, players can freely draw, color, and create melodies with the Mario Paint Composer. Luckily, the game designers also remembered that all (art)work and no play is a bit dull, so they included the "coffee break" fly swatting game. We look forward to seeing your masterpieces here at NVM!

Monetary donations are always appreciated as there are significant costs involved in managing, maintaining, building and displaying a collection as large as the NVM archive.
Even if you can't help monetarily, we are always looking for games and consoles to add to our library. Due to the highly interactive nature of the museum, systems go down all the time and are in need of replacement or repair parts. If you have any unused consoles, computers or games around the house, please drop them off at the museum or email us at [email protected] and we'll give them a good home! |
