This year I have ran four Nidra workshops at the Arcata Presbyterian Church. I purchased several extra thick and comfy Pilates type exercise mats and a dozen nice blankets for use in these sessions. I will continue this Nidra experiment for another month and will host two more sessions this March. These practices have had about 5 - 6 participants and have been very well received.   This Week! 1st and 3rd Thursdays in March (3/3 + 3/17) from 6 - 7 p.m.
Yoga Nidra workshops in The Arcata Presbyterian Church Upstairs Gym.
  Suggested Price: $5 - 15.

To add value to this newsletter and to start conversations I have began recommending content. Some books are just more special than others. The best yoga book I have ever read is The Recognition Sutras by Christopher "Hareesh" Wallis. This book is a transliteration (translation + explanation) of a nearly 1000 year old Tantric Manuscript "The Heart of the Teachings on Recognition". The original manuscript is the distillation of the teachings of a specific lineage which at the time was several generations old. Wallis' book is truly a life's work passion project. Wallis is a PHD Sanskrit Scholar and Yoga practitioner and this book took him at least 8 years to write and revise. I find it both deep and fairly accessible to newcomers. More Info |
