| Just stop and think about that statement for a moment. |
|
As a bodywork practitioner or physical therapist, this single statement is profoundly important. Why? If scar tissue is involved in the presenting issues your client experiences, or scar tissue plays even a minor role in their health problems, the full effect of your other work (massage, physical therapy, osteopathic adjustment etc.) will be less effective, or not effective at all.
This statement was a result of research carried out about 20 years ago (Lewit & Olsanska), and the statement still holds true. Why?
Because scar tissue is weaker and less elastic than healthy tissue. Scars also inhibit the flow of blood and lymph as well as exert restrictions upon joint mobility.
Did you know most scar tissue is not visible to the naked eye? The surgeon may have completed a fabulous and totally successful surgery. In the coming weeks and months, a scar forms that is neat, tidy and hardly visible. Amazing! But below the surface, all kinds of deep and hidden scar tissue has gotten hold of other internal structures, which is now inhibits their function. So many times, we have case studies come into the office describing, often in great detail, someone's life-time health problems - directly related to internal scarring.
Happily, we have improved people's health in an extraordinary way. Their very day-to-day existence due to the reduction and release of adhesions, fibrous tissue, and scar tissue has been a life-changing experience. Shouldn't you know more? |

MSTR® Research continues... |
|
We are now in the third stage of our research project for 2023. Commencing May 1st we will be offering our test subjects three, weekly treatments of MSTR® for their Cesarean section scars. There will be pre-treatment measurements taken of the scar, in which we will evaluate (amongst other things) tissue tension, elasticity and stiffness of the scar. Measurements will be taken across three predetermined points on the scar. Then, MSTR® will be applied for a maximum 15-minutes. Measurements will then be re-taken at those same points. This will be repeated three times, with a 7-day interval between the treatments. The measurements are taken using Myometric equipment. Data is recorded and computer analysis is created using dedicated software. Another update on our research will appear in June's MSTR® Newsletter. Thanks to all who have already generously donated to help fund this project. We really appreciate your support!

FIRST MSTR® CLASS IN ITALY!
|
|
Report from MSTR Instructor, Gian Marco Piras: April 22 was a historic day for MSTR®!! The first course was held in Turin, Italy. Sixteen professionals (doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, naturopaths) were able to learn, try and directly observe this wonderful technique. It was a beautiful and exciting day, and during the practical test there were immediate results in the course participants: a realignment of the pelvis, recovery of shoulder mobility, recovery of knee mobility and much more. The sixteen participants were very enthusiastic about MSTR® and will now have a powerful tool in their toolbox!!!! |
