FROM SEFI MEMBERS

The paper describes a workshop that teaches engineering students how to work equitably in diverse teams and addresses bias and discrimination issues. The workshop creates a safe and empowering environment, provides opportunities to apply these skills to real engineering projects, and includes proactive and reactive strategies to address bias. The evaluation shows that the workshop is effective and leads to behavioral changes in using proactive teamwork strategies to reduce unconscious bias.
