| Welcome to the first Bally Studios Newsletter, which we will be sending out no more than 8 times a year, every 4-8 weeks or so. If you've not been to Bally Studios in a while. we have plenty of news:
- New 8 Track recording facilities for demo recordings. - New cheaper block booking sessions. Book the same slot 12 weeks in a row and the price of the session can go as low as £29 for a 4 hour slot, including all fees, equipment and taxes. Availability will be limited, and we'll be releasing more info on this very soon. It has the benefits of a band-share, with staff on site to help set up and clean the studios. The full details of this will be in our second newsletter in 4 weeks, and will be announced on our website and social media shortly. Contact us if you want to reserve your slot or for more details.
- In 2023 we'll be blogging every 2-3 weeks about the things our staff have learned in the decades they've spent working in the music industry. Below are some of the posts we've already published that we're sure will help many of the bands that use our studios, (or other studios 😉). |

| 8-Track Recording Facilities Available. |
|
Inspired by The Beatles "Get Back" documentary, many bands have been hiring our new 8 track recorder and all of the microphones, cables, monitors, etc, that they need to record their own album themselves, for less than £500 for 35+ hours recording time. For a flat fee of £29 per session/£55 per month for unlimited use (as an additional hire to be added to your hourly rehearsals), our 8 track recorder package allows bands to: - record demos so that they can start contacting promoters and record labels.
- record self produced, stripped down albums.
- record alternative versions of their songs.
- complete pre-production recordings they can then give to prospective producers.
- develop their audio engineering skills.
All on the tightest of budgets. |

In January 2023, after an overnight shift fixing amplifiers and doing a deep clean of all of the studios, we recorded a quick 6 minute video tour of 4 of the 5 studios we have to offer while they were empty. If you need a reminder of what the studios look like, here it is.
(Our Studio 1 is currently booked more than 6 months in advance, so we didn't include this one in the tour, for the sake of the band's privacy.) |

| Bally Blog: 10 Ways To Make Your Rehearsals As Productive As Possible. |

We've had bands rehearse with us for years without ever playing a gig who have no great plans to ever do so. They simply love playing music in a room with their friends, and we honestly think there's few better ways to spend your free time.
By contrast we've had bands come into our studios as teenagers who years later rehearsed 50 hours a week for 4 weeks to get ready for their European tour. Whilst they also had fun in their sessions they still needed them to be productive, and so they needed to plan their sessions properly. This blog post focuses on the bands that were able to get the absolute best results out of their rehearsals, and what other bands can learn from them. |

| All studios at Bally are equipped with stage lighting, LED lighting, intimate lamps and standard lighting, as standard. Not only do different lighting options make for a better environment to encourage creativity, but they also help the bands who use our studios to rehearse under gig conditions. |

The vast majority of bands that pass through our doors play the grassroots music venues that are the foundation that the whole music industry is built on. It's always so exciting to see so many great up and coming bands pass through our doors.
2022 was also our most successful year ever for bands that reached the Top #40 Albums Chart, with x6 of the bands that rehearsed with us reaching the Official Album Charts including Fontaines DC, (who reached #1) The Buzzcocks, The Altered Images and The Murder Capital. Fantastic bands making fantastic music, and lovely people too. 🥰 |

| Drum Practice, still only £6.50 per hour, or £100 for 20 hours. With the costs of living crisis and the added effect that that has had on people's mental health, we've started to see an upturn in drummers who aren't in bands booking solo drum sessions as a means of both physical and mental exercise. Booking £100 for 20 hours of sessions gives them something to focus on twice a week for 10 weeks, a way to relieve their stress, and to get out of the house and meet people. They stick the headphones on, add ear defenders over the top, and THRASH that kit to within an inch of it's life! More than 20 amplifiers available in the 4 studios that have availability in 2023, always included in the room rate. Over the Christmas period we had loads of guitar amplifiers serviced, with speakers upgraded, input jacks replaced and pots cleaned. Amps that are now available again include our Marshall Mosfet, Epiphone Triggerman, Fender Performer 1000, Hughes and Kettner PCS50 and Vox VTX120, amongst others.
