At next week's Final Four, Coach Mike Krzyzewski will lead the Duke Blue Devils for the last time. After 47 years, Coach K has amassed an impressive 1,202-367 record with ten ACC Tournament championships and five NCAA Tournament championships. This year, he'll compete in his record 13th Final Four. When asked about his list of accomplishments, he humbly explained, "This isn't about me. It's about the team. I tell the players that, and I try to push them. I ask, 'How many games can you win this season for me?' and 'What records can you break that I haven't already broken.' It's really about them going out there and playing their best to get me a win."
Duke will face the winner of UNC and St. Peter's who play today at 5:05 PM. "It's definitely going to be a good game. The world is watching and asking, will the underdog knock us off or will Coach K win again?" stated third-person afficionado Coach K. "The only banners we hang up in Cameron Indoor Stadium are Championship banners," explained Krzyzewski as he looked on at the maintenance staff hanging a "Coach K - 100 NCAA Tournament Victories" banner right next to his "Coach K 1,000 Wins" banner.
When asked which Duke player will contribute most in the upcoming semifinal game, Coach K offered, "Well, most of these guys are only playing 37, 38 minutes a game. I'm out there for all 40 minutes. Do you know how difficult the constant sitting and standing is? So yeah... I'd have to say me." A reporter pressed Coach K to name an actual player. A perturbed Krzyzewski asked to see a roster as he couldn't "quite remember the players' names at the moment."
A win on Saturday would grant Duke a chance to compete in the Finals on Monday. It looks like the tournament is panning out just the way Coach K predicted in his bracket below.
