Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that in addition to ISBN, we will include a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for each accepted paper of this year’s conference. We hope that you appreciate this important step forward, we believe having a DOI is an excellent advantage for researchers.

| Nominate a colleague for SEFI Fellowship 2022 |
|
The SEFI Fellowship Award recognises meritorious service to engineering education in Europe. Award recipients may use the expression “Fellow of SEFI” (F.SEFI) as a postscript to their name. Individual members of SEFI working in the field of engineering education for at least five years can be nominated. You may recommend a colleague by a nomination letter addressed to [email protected] until 1 May. |

Recognize teaching efforts through
SEFI Maffioli Award 2022

This year again, SEFI member institutions may nominate teachers or teams of teachers for the Francesco Maffioli Award which is given as recognition of open-minded development of curriculum, learning environments or tools, novel didactics, methods or systems in engineering studies. | 2-6 May 2022 - Leuven, Belgium. The Summer School, organised by the KU Leuven University and SEFI will take place from 2nd until 6th May 2022 and provides an opportunity for 37 PhD students engaged in engineering and science education research to learn from experts and their pee will participate in workshops led by experts, centered around aspects of research in engineering and science education research. | The Handbook of Engineering Ethics Education will collect and outline existing research knowledge in Engineering Ethics Education. The content of the handbook will reflect the knowledge base that the editorial team considers early career and new researcher in the field of EEE should know about the field.

Patric Wallin will present highlights of the work published in the European Journal of Engineering Education “The reflective diary as a method for the formative assessment of self-regulated learning” by Wallin and Adawi. From reflective diaries and formative assessment practice to the use of thematic analysis to explore aspects of self-regulation, we expect the audience to engage in the discussions and find take-home messages related to the topic and the research methods discussed. |

| 2-3 June 2022 - Poitiers, France The CDEFI organizes the 2022 edition of its annual conference of engineering schools in collaboration with ENSI Poitiers and ISAE-ENSMA. A welcome cocktail will be held on Wednesday evening, June 1. The aim of these two days is to develop exchanges between the engineering schools, to allow a general reflection on common issues in order to elaborate together strategic development axes in various fields. With this conference they celebrate 50 years of ‘Engineering Pedagogy’. This interdisciplinary conference aims to focus on the exchange of relevant trends and research results as well as the presentation of practical experiences in Interactive Collaborative Learning and Engineering Pedagogy. | The European Union (EU) - African Union (AU) Summit, held in Brussels on 17-18 February 2022, resulted in a joint vision of an expanded cooperation and renewed partnership, promoting solidarity, security, peace and sustainable economic development both in Europe and in Africa. The leaders attending the Summit announced a EUR 150 billion Africa-Europe Investment Package, composed of health and education investment programmes and several joint actions that will support a common ambition for 2030.
