2021-2023 Synod for a Synodal Church

Image description

Pope Francis has announced that in preparation for the next Synod of Bishops, there will be a worldwide conversation in the Church or a "synod" about community, engaged participation, and the mission of evangelization. This conversation will follow a two-year path and involve the People of God - everyone, everywhere. All are invited to join in prayer as we begin this synodal conversation and unite it with the Diocesan Pastoral Planning Process.

Join the conversation at our parish

Pope Francis hopes that the synod will inspire conversation and discussion over some topics and challenges relevant to the life of the Church in the world today. For each of the next eight weeks, all are invited to join the discussion online by contributing to three questions that change week to week.

This week's questions

How do we form and help those who hold roles of responsibility?

How do we discern our missions and support members engaged in mission?

How do we reconcile social priorities and goals with the priority of the Church’s mission?

Have some thoughts?

See and join the conversation

Join the conversation in our Diocese

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough is reopening the online survey from now until January 14, 2022.

If you attend a parish for the Christmas Masses, we would love to hear from you. If you are joining this survey conversation for the first time, welcome. You will have the chance to respond with your own thoughts and to rate the input of others which you will be able to see and read through.

If you participated in the survey before, please take a look now. There are new thoughts to rate, and you may have other thoughts to add to the conversation.

Contribute to the ongoing discussion
