We're back Well, 'we', as in the people of Biblical Families never went away, we were busy living our lives as normal (as it gets for us, anyway) as possible. Some of us were even staying active on the BF forum (which is even less 'normal' than our lives... really, come see). As a protestation in favor of 'normal', we will not be using the C-word that filled the media and the world over the last year. We are reclaiming our (ab)normal as best we can. And our particular normal is OK - because God is good, He still loves us, and we trust Him with our families, and the future. All praise be to the Rock!
So, we will be having retreats again! Almost immediately. We are going to be in Branson, MO area on June 18-20th. This will not be like our past big summer retreats, as we expect a smaller crowd, and it will be at a hotel. But there are campgrounds near by, and you are welcome to stay in one, rather than our hotel. What will we be doing? - well, look at the picture, we'll be sitting under a tree, socially distanced, contemplating our lives.
Just kidding! We are going to have fun - we are going to worship, and fellowship, and play games, and laugh, and pray, and get to know each other. It'll be a pretty relaxed event - at this point we don't have any 'teaching' time - so come expecting to share how God has been good to your family, and expecting to be encouraged. To be clear, since it has been 15 months since we've had a retreat, everyone is welcome - plural and non-plural families, of all sizes, and those just considering what a patriarchal family might look like. There is no litmus test for attending our retreats - you are welcome - at least until we fill up our meeting room, which could happen. If there's enough interest, we may do a West Coast retreat (likely California, or nearby) in early August - if you'd be interested in this, please let us know now at the same email address, so we can plan.
Then the ladies will have their own get-together again:
Attention All Ladies! We are going to have a Women's Retreat this Fall! We will be gathering together October 1-3, 2021. The location has not yet been set but will be announced as soon as it is decided upon. Mark your calendar though and take some time to pray about attending this year's Women's Retreat. It will be truly a blessing to fellowship, worship and pray with all of you again. If you have any questions please email [email protected].
Then we hope to have a Florida retreat late in the year (when the rest of you start getting cold again). Date and location TBA.
