Please  join us

Thursday, September 30th

St. Joseph Church recognizes our new holiday with a prayer service and guest speaker. At 6:30pm, join a prayer service for Truth and Reconciliation.

Following the prayers, all are welcome to a presentation and discussion on how we can protect water as a human right, shared commons and sacred gift.

This will help build awareness for the challenges many communities in our nation face in obtaining access to clean drinking water. The discussion will be led by Paul Baines, coordinator for the CSJ Blue Community.

Participate online or in person.

Start preparing for Confirmation
Image description

Before Jesus was put to death, He promised His followers that He would send His Spirit to comfort and strengthen them. The Sacrament of Confirmation is the final Sacrament of initiation, an excellent time for a young Catholic and their family to grow in faith and renew their Catholic commitment. At St. Joseph Church, those Catholics who are in grade seven or older are invited to begin the preparation process for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Learn more or sign up by visiting our website.

Signup closes on September 30th.

Let’s put People and Planet First with Development and Peace

In Canada, most people can speak out freely when injustice is committed. In many countries of the Global South, however, communities are threatened when they seek to protect their rights, especially their right to a healthy environment. This climate of insecurity is often fueled by the presence and influence of corporations, some of which are Canadian. Undaunted, many vulnerable communities fight courageously to defend their rights, their lands and the environment against corporate harm.

This year, Development and Peace’s People and Planet First campaign invites you to stand in solidarity with them and celebrate their work!

To learn more about the campaign, join us for an in introductory virtual workshop from

9:30am – 12:30pm on October 2

You can register here. The campaign poster and other resources are available for download on Development and Peace’s website for promotion!

Life Chain 2021

Sunday, October 3rd, 2-4pm

Corner of King and Liberty

Life Chain is held simultaneously in more than 200 locations across Canada each year. Life Chain is an easy way to join others in peacefully expressing our belief in the sanctity of life. Participants simply stand on the sidewalk with others. The organizer will provide a non-graphic sign to hold, and you may pray silently for an end to abortion and for those affected by it. Feel free to bring a chair, a coffee and good spirits.

Please keep in your thoughts and prayers...

those who have died, especially...
Eileen Waite, Marion Aylward,

 Frances Logan, Ronald Baron
and Eyral Yap Rubejes

and those who are sick, especially...
Eddie Kolodziejcak, Mary Eileen Moffitt
Janine DeCastro, Annie Maas, Catherine O'Carroll
Soledad R Cortez, Jozsef Vincze
Mary Hofbauer, and Wynona Terry

Jesus, Our Lord, we ask you to have mercy on all who are sick. Give them your strength and love and help them carry this cross with faith. May their sufferings be one with yours, overcome the power of evil and lead others to our Father in Heaven. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer, for you are Lord forever and ever. Amen.
