Join other ClimateFast and Team Climate 2021 volunteers in canvassing for climate champion candidates in close ridings. If you can help for a few hours in the next few days, get in touch with [email protected] with the heading CLIMATE CANVASS and I will follow up with details. We’ll be heading out Wednesday early evening to a Mississauga riding, and on Thursday or Friday this week to Parkdale-High Park and/or Oshawa.
MAKE SOME PHONE CALLS TO ELECT CLIMATE CHAMPIONS!
WHAT ARE THE FEDERAL PARTIES CLIMATE RECORDS AND WHAT ARE THEIR PLANS?
Perhaps the following record of votes explains why they didn’t show up at the GreenPac debates. Despite saying they have a climate plan their record shows otherwise.
How did the parties vote on key environmental policies?
(Credit to Cathy Orlando of Citizens Climate Lobby for this record of votes).
In the past 2.5 years, parliamentarians voted on Bill C230 – National Strategy to Redress Environmental Racism Act, Act C12 – the Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act, C15 – Enshrining the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People under National Law, C38 – The Oil Tanker Moratorium Act, and the National Climate Emergency Declaration. The Liberals, NDP and Greens voted “Yea” for all of them. The Bloc voted Yea for all of them except the National Strategy to Redress Environmental Racism, and the Conservatives voted “Nay” for all of them.
THAT’S THE RECORD - WHAT ARE FEDERAL PARTIES PLEDGING TO DO NOW?
FEDERAL PARTY SURVEYS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
One Earth One Vote, a collective of several of the large environmental organizations, asked the five official parties 11 questions on key environmental priorities related to nature protection, climate action and Indigenous rights. See where the parties stand on key environmental issues.
