Welcome back! Can you believe it's the last weekend in August? I can, because I look at calendars frequently.

Today's Edition features several stories that will make you think, "Yeah, this guy probably took a writing class in college." And really, that's the goal. With that vote of confidence, let's dive into this week's news!

World Weather: On August 22, we witnessed a Sturgeon Moon, colloquially called a Blue Moon. While modern language defines Blue Moon as the second full moon in a single calendar month, the original definition describes it as the third full moon in a given season, which is what we saw last week. My main point is that none of this relates to weather at all. Gotcha!

Week in Review

Nirvana Sued: The boy on Nirvana's Nevermind album cover is now 30 years old and is suing the band. He claims that the artwork sexually exploited him, causing "extreme and permanent emotional distress." He went on to explain, "The problem is that the women I date expect that it got bigger."

Little League: Michigan beat Ohio to win the Little League World Series today. "I didn't know that was possible," University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh stated after the game.

Finally, Pfizer: The FDA gave full approval to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine on Monday. Pfizer's top-notch branding team renamed the vaccine, "Comirnaty," a mash up of "COVID-19 immunity," "mRNA," and, "community." That name sounds pretty stupidiodumb to me.

Music Review - Dead & Company & Magician

Last night, I went to the Dead & Company show in Hershey, PA. Actually, I went to the Dead & Company & Magician show. Most people are unaware that the band comprised of several members of the original Grateful Dead plus Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and John Mayer now also features Steve the Sorcerer, an intermission performer. Scott's Edition interviewed several fans after the concert. Here are some of the quotes that stood out:

"This was my sixth time seeing Dead & Company, but first since they added Steve. Man, I didn't think this band could get any more magical!" -Jeff R.

"Yeah, I mean the music's great and all, but where did he make that rabbit go?!?" -Mike L.

"It's great that they let the band play for a little bit so we had time to go to the bathroom before Steve came on!" -Sandra W.

"This was my sixth show ever, but first since he added a band! God, I f*#$ing love Steve the Sorcerer!" -Marcus B.

"At intermission, I put on sunglasses and a hoodie so I can watch Steve without being recognized in the crowd!" -John M.

Where's Waldo?... For Real!

As I looked out on the crowd prior to last night's show, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to a do a real Where's Waldo! I swear this isn't a joke, and that you can actually find Waldo in the picture below.

Comics Described

Artists get all the credit for a good comic strip, but I think it’s the writing that really makes or breaks them. To really focus on the writing, I’ve removed those pesky cartoons and will simply explain the comic strip. I think this will create a much more enjoyable experience for the reader.

In panel 1, Garfield poses heroically, hand pointed upward, cape billowing behind him, a confident smirk on his face. He thinks, "Fear Not!"

In panel 2, he's changed up his pose to yet another heroic stance: right hand on hip, left hand thumb gesturing towards himself, cape cloaking the hero within. He continues, "The caped avenger returns!"

In the final panel, Garfield springs into action, and a plume of dust follows the fleet-footed savior! Head down, arms pumping, the cat races toward the action. He thinks, "I shall now liberate the donuts trapped in the cupboard!"

Holy smokes, what a zinger! A cat that wants some food? Now that's comedy.

Where's Waldo Answer: He's on the screen, stage left!
