God doesn't make mistakes—you're here for a reason.
Hey Sabbath Thinker! This week, I'm thinking about perspective and the gifts we all bring to the table. God doesn't call anyone by accident—which means if He's working with you, it's because He wants to work with you and has a purpose for you. That's pretty amazing to think about. Below is another stab at the 3-2-1 format we started last week. Let me know what you think of it! |

| | | | | | | | | Speed requires a frame of reference. You can’t just be going 75 miles per hour—you have to be going 75 miles per hour in relation to something. Here on planet Earth, our de facto frame of reference is the surface of the planet itself. That’s why, when the police officer asks us if we knew how fast we were going, the correct reply isn’t, “Faster than that other guy,” or, “Slower than you,” or, “Sixty-six thousand with respect to the sun, so what’s another 15 at this point?” Read more in For Such a Time as This: Why Frame of Reference Matters >> |

| | | | | | Because, here’s the thing—you do belong here. But if you’re experiencing impostor syndrome as a Christian—and believe me, you’re not the only one experiencing it—then you probably have a lot of reasons in your head about why you don’t belong here. About why you’re not qualified to be here. You feel like a spiritual fraud, and in the back of your mind, you’re afraid of what’s going to happen once everyone else comes to see you for the impostor that you know yourself to be. | | | | | | What are you passionate about? I’m not talking about hobbies or things you do to pass the time—what are the activities and causes and pursuits you engage in with true passion? What can you absolutely lose yourself in? What do you find yourself investing your time and energy into simply because you enjoy it? I can almost guarantee you that, tangled up in the roots of those pursuits, you will find your gift. It’s in the pursuit of our deepest passions that we instinctively employ our greatest gifts, because the two go hand in hand. Find your passion and you’ll find your gift. | | | | | | | | | Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. (Romans 12:6–8) |

| | | | | | But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10) |

| | | | | | | | | Think about something you love doing. Sky's the limit—if you could use that passion to serve God's Church, how would you put it to use? Bonus question: What's holding you back from starting right now? |

| | | Have a wonderful Sabbath. |
