Dear Friends,
We had a special night a couple of weeks ago. Those that have been along for this ride for awhile know, we've had many special nights! Reconnecting to traditions, culture, our natural heritage is why I created the Center for Cultural Preservation 15 years ago. And why a growing community is cherishing this work today.
This is not a solo journey. I could not have made this film without the incredible involvement of Cherokee elders and artisans, conservationists and special collections institutions, without the great support from our donors and business sponsors and without your excitement and enthusiasm for our mission.
We also had an amazing core of a dozen volunteers who helped with registration and the celebration, took photographs and video, and so much more. Thank you doesn't go far enough, but my gratitude does runneth over.
For those who missed it or want to rewatch, October 10 (corrected date) will be our feature presentation at the Tryon International Film Festival (see upcoming events at the end of this newsletter.)
Raising Cane now has it own film page. See it HERE.
We've also been hearing from venues and organizations throughout the region and around the country, so be prepared for a 2027 Raising Cane Tour soon!
