| | Hi {{ firstname }},
First, if you subscribed at Make It Inevitable, Pinpoint Your Purpose, Channels for Change, or Call of the Void, you might be wondering why you're getting an email from Choose Your Calling now.
The short of it is that things are evolving around here after a big realization of mine, and I'm consolidating our lists into one because, at least for the foreseeable future, I'm bringing all the conversations that we have and the work that we do back under one umbrella.
Let's get into why...
I've been quiet since spring, and for good reason.
In mid-April, I experienced a massive rupture when my relationship of a little over three years came to a sudden and unexpected end. In the immediate aftermath of that ending, I naturally felt... unmoored.
Ultimately, the ending was necessary and good for many reasons, including the future of Choose Your Calling. To understand that statement, you need some context, so let me set the stage...
On September 22, 2022, the name "Choose Your Calling" dropped in while I was chatting with a friend and mentor, trying to figure out where to take my work next. I knew I was outgrowing my personal brand, and that the work was ready to evolve to a new level with more depth, but I was stuck. He’s actually the one who came up with the name, and was 100% certain it was The Name, even before I was.
In truth, it wasn’t until I ran the name by a small sampling of friends and clients that I felt how potent it actually was. And once it landed, it landed hard, along with a big vision that felt exciting and expansive.
Three months after that call, I met a man, and four months after that, I went all-in on the relationship by moving him here to New Mexico to live and work with me. Turns out, for reasons I’m beginning to share on my personal Instagram page, it was very much the wrong relationship. The simplest way to put it is that the combination of our energies created a massive amount of distortion for me. I couldn’t hear myself or my intuition, and it felt like my vision was scrambled.
I also got sick.
So very, very sick for nearly three years.
All of that to say: I spent two of those years building Choose Your Calling, along with all four of our brand verticals and their respective websites. I worked on the branding, messaging, and offerings, and running my agency while not even feeling like a person, or like the world was real (derealization and depersonalization are awful).
When my relationship ended in April, everything went quiet, and after sitting patiently inside that void for weeks on end, I had a realization. |
|
Not entirely, but wrong enough. |
|
Truthfully, there's so much I built that's still deeply aligned.
So many aspects of the conversations that will remain unchanged.
But at its heart, Choose Your Calling was always meant to be something more divine and heart-centered, focusing heavily on the kind of work I don't feel the industry does nearly enough of.
But because I was sick...
Because I partnered with the wrong person (also professionally)...
Because my vision and intuition were distorted...
Because the relationship was deeply burning me out...
It somehow became too... formal.
I'm not sure that's the best word, but we'll run with it (and it will make a whole lot more sense when I share my recent worldview changes). 😅 |
|
In short, it lost its heart because I lost myself. |
|
But the good news is, I'm back. |
|
In the last few weeks, clarity has been coming in hot, and I'm grateful. I feel more like myself than I have in YEARS, and my intuition and divine connection to this work are alive and well. I know what to do, and I'm already digging in behind the scenes, reorienting everything.
And now that I'm clear, I'm ready to bring you along with me.
I'm ready to share the vision and where we're headed, and I'm thrilled to start us off with two things today.
First, the podcast is back! 🥳
I never intended for Make It Inevitable to go on hiatus at all, let alone for 2.5 years, but I was just too sick to continue recording. But I'm ready, and I have so very much to say and share with you. This first episode back shares more about what the last few years have been like for me, the grief of losing a relationship I thought would go the distance, and what happened when I finally stopped pushing.

Second, I'm committing to a series of brand-new workshops from now through the end of the year. I'll be sharing three new conversations, each "repeating" once per month through December.
I say "repeating" because they technically are, but I will be iterating on and evolving the conversations each time to ensure they're as potent and transformative as possible for everyone who attends.
The reason I'm committing to these workshops is that they're what has been alive and well in my heart since before I got sick, throughout my three years of building while burned out, and even more so now. Personal capacity, transmuting what's hard and what hurts into something meaningful and useful in an increasingly chaotic world, and becoming a trusted voice in transitional times (personally and professionally) are essential lessons we all need to embody.
If your heart feels heavy because of the current state of the world, and if it feels impossible to figure out your role, your contribution, and how to live your life in such a way that you're not completely numbed out or overwhelmed, these workshops are for you. |
|
Personal capacity is crucial. |
|
And not enough people are doing the work to build theirs. |
|
Building personal capacity is about expanding your tolerance for what's hard and what hurts, and learning to process those feelings productively so you can hold more without getting overwhelmed. And beyond holding more, building capacity also allows you to see new possibilities for yourself and the world at large. It allows you to approach what feels impossibly scary with more creativity and optimism, even as more systems begin collapsing.
Everyone wants the "hack."
They want outcomes and experiences that are no longer accessible through old ways of being because our world is changing rapidly. That's why things aren't working the way they used to, and why it feels like we all jumped into an alternate, distorted timeline back in 2020.
Before we can even begin to have truly regulated nervous systems, solve for systemic failures, and build meaningful lives and businesses that support us and create positive transformation in the world, we have to expand our personal capacity as individuals and leaders.
All three of these workshops will do exactly that, while also providing you with actionable steps and resources to build with.
As a thank-you, you can use the code CHOOSEYOURCALLING to save 30% on any workshop, and there's also a pay-what-you-can option that you're highly encouraged to use as and when needed. |
|
I hope you'll join me in the coming months!
I honestly don't expect these to be big groups, because so few people are willing to dig into these conversations right now. But all that means is that you'll be well ahead in a game many don't realize we're playing yet, and you'll get more of my time and attention. 😉
Either way, hit reply and let me know what's happening in your world!
I would love to know what you're struggling with or feeling stuck around so I can ensure the new podcast episodes support all of us.
Hugs, Stephenie |
