Goodbye August &

Hello September! 🍂💛

It is honestly a little crazy to say, but we are officially waving goodbye to summer and stepping into our Fall era! And you know what? We will happily welcome a little cooler weather, football season, and everything September has in store. 🏈🍂

We are so excited to continue sharing the big things happening here at Agape Village! As many of you know, our original location, Agape 1.0, is currently under renovation, while our second location at Valencia Town Center, Agape 2.0, is officially up and running for our clients!

It is going to be a journey over the next couple of months as we work through all of the little things in between, but we are incredibly excited about the doors that continue to open for our program and the ways our village is continuing to grow right here in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Our September newsletter highlights some special moments from August and shares a little of what is ahead for the month. So grab your coffee and keep reading! ☕️💛

☕️ September Coffee Dates

Just Brew It will unfortunately be closed this month as we continue working through renovations at our locations.

We will definitely miss having our coffee shop open this month, but we are working hard behind the scenes to transform Just Brew It into something that will make you want to come back and visit us week after week!

Stay tuned for a new and improved Just Brew It at Agape Village! We cannot wait to share what we have been working on with you.

If you are new to Agape, our newsletter, or Just Brew It, our coffee shop is completely donation-based because it is part of our clients' job training program. Our clients have learned how to navigate and operate the business, prepare the items you enjoy, interact with customers, and take pride in creating a space that belongs to them.

We will let you know as soon as we are back up and running! Until then, thank you for cheering on our clients and this special little business. 💛

👕 Agape Designs

Have a heat press project coming up?

Agape Designs would love to help!

This past month, we had the opportunity to create some adorable tote bags for our friends at Valencia Church, and they turned out SO good! We love getting to see our clients' creativity come to life through projects like these.

At Agape Designs, some of our clients are learning graphic design, practicing how to operate our heat press machines, and developing valuable job skills along the way.

Agape Designs is another important piece of our job training program, and we are excited to take orders from businesses, organizations, churches, and companies that need custom items fulfilled.

If you or someone you know has a project they would like us to work on, we would love to hear from you! We offer competitive and reasonable pricing, and Tim Smith is happy to answer any questions and provide more information.

❄️ Frozen at COC with Canyon Theatre Guild

August brought us a very special afternoon!

Our Agape Village family had the opportunity to attend Frozen at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, presented by Canyon Theatre Guild.

We had such an amazing group join us , clients, parents, friends, and members of our Agape family, and we all enjoyed an incredible performance together!

We are already looking forward to attending another performance later this year. 🎭✨

🎨 Art Club

Art Club was SO much fun this month!

Our amazing art teachers brought us some wonderful lessons, and we are proudly displaying many of our clients' creations throughout our new space at Agape 2.0!

We love Art Club because it is so much more than simply "painting". It gives our clients the opportunity to be creative, try new techniques, freely express themselves, and discover new ways to communicate through art.

Most importantly, our teachers love reminding our clients that there is no one right way to make art.

Art is beautiful because everyone gets to make it their own.

🦮 Guide Dogs of America Workshop

Last month, we had SUCH an incredible experience with Guide Dogs of America!

Volunteers from this beautiful organization came to Agape and led an amazing workshop where our clients were able to learn about guide dogs and the incredible process behind the work they do.

Our clients had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the training process, and hear directly from a man who is blind and currently has a guide dog. We learned more about navigating the blind community, the independence guide dogs can provide, and just how much time, patience, and training goes into preparing these incredible animals.

And, of course, the best part came at the end, some adorable furry friends joined us for some playtime and pets! 🐕💛

💛 All Things Community

Even while navigating renovations and moving between spaces, our day-to-day programming continues to be full of learning, community, and plenty of fun!

Our clients have continued staying busy with their Special Olympics tournaments, weekly volunteer opportunities, adaptive fitness workouts, classes at College of the Canyons, job training, and all of the everyday activities that make up life here at Agape.

But August also brought a very special moment for our Agape family.

One of our clients was baptized at Valencia Hills Community Church, and being there to celebrate this important step with him and his family meant so much to all of us.

We are so thankful that our Agape family gets to be there for the big moments and the little ones too. 💛

We cannot wait to see what September brings!
