Write for Languages Victoria

Do you have a story, strategy, or insight from your language classroom?

Arrange an online conversation with a member of the LTV Publications Committee and we’ll help you clarify your angle and map a simple path to a short article for Languages Victoria.

Why contribute? Writing for Languages Victoria is a chance to:

  • Showcase your practice

  • Contribute to our professional knowledge base

  • Inspire colleagues across Victoria and beyond

Some prompts to get you started:

  • A classroom story or strategy that made a difference

  • What shapes your practice? (e.g., student voice, culture, curriculum, assessment, values)

  • Building community partnerships or intercultural capability

  • Differentiation, inclusion, or transitions (Primary ↔ Secondary)

  • Early-career reflections or leadership insights

  • Teaching with digital tools/AI: opportunities and cautions

  • A concise resource review or “try this tomorrow” activity

Your own idea is welcome—even if it’s rough. The conversation will help you refine it. We’ll help you choose a format and shape a clear, reader-friendly structure.

ANU Languages Survey

The Languages in Australia Survey

A major language use research project is being undertaken by the Australian National University (ANU) in order to get a more accurate picture of the number of languages spoken in the country and add detail to the kind of information collected in the 2026 census.

If you are aged 18 years or older, live in Australia and speak or sign a language (or multiple languages) other than English well enough to have a conversation, you are invited to complete a short online survey.
