Hello October, it's good to see you

Hi {{ firstname }},

September was fun!
The sold-out audience for the Band Showcase, at The Most on the 12th, enjoyed a great night of music. And the full-house at the NP Singer Songwriters night were treated to an exciting variety of performances with several bands, some new faces and some back after years away, a good range of musical instruments, and lots of musical genres.

That brings us to October - with two Singer Songwriter events to round out the calendar, one in Hāwera on Friday 23rd, and we're back in New Plymouth a week later for the final one for 2026. This'll probably be a full house, so come along early to avoid being turned away.

But it's not quite the end. Keep reading to find out more about radio news and the big finale for 2026:
Taranaki Mountain Roots 2 is part of the FRINGE Taranaki festival, which runs 4-15 November. It will feature 15 acts from around the Maunga in "an explosion of local talent".

FRINGE Taranaki Mountain Roots 2 on Sunday 8th November 8pm

Check out other events, dates, venues and details below.

How lucky are we, in Taranaki, to have so many local indie radio stations that champion local music. Here is news from two of them ....

Artist of the Month

Kicking off next month on The Most FM, in collaboration with Taranaki Singer Songwriters Development Trust, is a new show featuring one Taranaki artist or band per month. Details are still being finalised, including the name of the show, at this stage being called Artist of the Month.
An initial interview with the featured artist will provide snippets to be replayed throughout the month, along with their music.
Watch this space, listen to The Most FM, to find out more.

Let us know if you'd like to be considered as a future Artist of the Month.

Calling all potential podcasting hosts

We're on the hunt for potential podcasters who would be keen to present and promote our local singer songwriters in a new radio show/podcast on ART FM.

Starting early in 2027, this would be a pre-recorded, hour-long show with four revolving hosts (so you'd be on only 1 week in 4). It could feature interviews with, and music by, our local singer songwriters presented in your own unique style, as well as promos for what's on in Taranaki. Sounds like fun!
